By the time I was in sixth grade all of my siblings had moved out of the house so I had a lot of time with my parents. In the evenings my Mom and I would watch TV together, usually shows like Murder, She Wrote, or the old Nick at Night line up of I Love Lucy and Mary Tyler Moore. Because of this I grew up loving Angela Lansbury. The original Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris features Angel Lansbury, so when it came on TV my Mom made a plan to record it on VHS so we could enjoy it over and over. The … [Read more...]

The Secret Life of Pets 2 is coming to digital August 13, 2019 and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray™, DVD and On Demand August 27, 2019. I'm really excited about this because my family loves this movie! Is it safe for your kids? Is it appropriate for the whole family? Here is my spoiler free, parent review. Kid Friendly This movie is completely kid friendly, in my opinion. Seize the Day and Get NEWSIES on Digital HD
I don't remember the first time I saw NEWSIES, I just feel like I've always known NEWSIES. It is seriously one of my favorite Disney movies of all time. The music is the best! When I found out they were making it into a Broadway show (which DUH, awesome idea!) I tried to figure out how to get to New York. In the beginning it was going to be a short run show, but I assume because of it's popularity it lasted longer and then it the road on a national tour.My husband and I were blessed to be … [Read more...]
Queen of Katwe In Theaters
A few months ago when I was in Los Angeles for the premiere of The BFG we were also able to screen Queen of Katwe (for pics of the real life inspirations for the film, click that link). Before we saw the film I didn't know anything about the movie, so I was curious. “Queen of Katwe” is based on the vibrant true story of a young girl from the streets of rural Uganda whose world rapidly changes when she is introduced to the game of chess, and, as a result of the support she receives from her … [Read more...]

The Leading Ladies of “The BFG”
Sitting down with Penelope Wilton (who plays the "Queen") and Rebecca Hall (who plays "Mary", basically the Queen's assistant) was very exciting. I'm a big fan of Penelope Wilton because I LOVED "Downton Abbey." She played the role Isobel Crawley (Matthew's Mom) on "Downton Abbey" which recently ended (SAD!). As soon as we knew we were interviewing her I was super excited. When the ladies came in we got right to business by finding out how they got involved with "The BFG." They both had … [Read more...]

In "The BFG" you will find yourself surrounded by GIANTS. Especially since you can see it in 3D and feel even more in the film. I was lucky enough to be able to spend some time with 2 of the giants in the film, Academy Award winner Mark Rylance ("The BFG") and Jermaine Clement ("Fleshlumpeater").The day before we had gotten the cute "BFG" figurine, so someone decided to put theirs on the table for the actors to see. Mark hadn't yet seen the "BFG" pop vinyl figure so he really enjoyed looking … [Read more...]
