Summer is the Perfect Time to #ExploreBranson

June 5, 2014 By Stefanie

Disclosure: As part of the US Family Guides Blogger Network I was invited on a complimentary trip to Branson for promotional purposes. All experiences and opinions are my own.

My family has been to Branson a couple of times in the 2 years we have lived in Kansas City. We have had a lot of fun going to different shows and experiences different attractions. I have come to learn that Branson would make a fun couples getaway and is great for a family vacation. On our upcoming trip with US Family Guides here are some of the great things we will be to do. Be sure to follow me on Instagram for the most updates of this fun trip!

Lodging

I’m so excited that my family is staying at the Grand Country Resort. We have driven past this hotel a hundred times and every time I tell my husband I want to stay there.

Why is Grand Country so great? Because you could spend a whole weekend just there and not do anything else! Grand Country has a buffet, a theater where there are tons of shows daily, an arcade, miniature golf and an indoor and outdoor water park! This place looks so much fun and I can’t wait to get checked in!

Attractions

For dinner next Thursday evening we will be boarding the Showboat Branson Belle for a dinner cruise! I’m very excited about this attraction. With meals prepared fresh daily aboard the ship we will set sail, enjoy an amazing dinner and watch an entertaining show. I have heard great things about the Branson Belle and I look forward to experiencing it with my family.

We will spend all day Friday at Silver Dollar City. We have never visited Silver Dollar City before and I’m looking forward to it. This theme park has a “frontier” theme from what I am told. There are rides, shows and yummy food to be eaten. One interesting thing about this park is that there is a cave on the grounds that you can go inside and take a tour of. I’m really excited for that… and the food! I think my family will love Silver Dollar City.

Wanting a unique tour of Branson? Check out Ride the Ducks. This is a fun attraction where you ride in a vehicle that does land and sea tours. We will drive around Branson learning about the Ozarks and then head to water and he vehicle becomes a boat! Exciting, huh? I think the kids will enjoy driving into water. Let’s hope they aren’t scared!

I can’t wait to hit White Water with my family while in Branson. My kids love water parks and we have never been to this one before. We are excited to zoom down the slides, splash in the pools and relax in the lazy river.  There is something for all age groups at White Water so everyone will be able to have fun. I think this is going to be a fun day for my family.

The Titanic Branson attraction is amazing. We have visited this location before so we know we have a lot to look forward to. You can read about my previous trip to the Titanic here, but basically you receive a card telling you about one of the passengers aboard the ship. Most of the people you can see pictures of and learn about their life as you travel throughout the museum. At the end of the museum you will discover if they lived or died. You also receive an audio tour device that tells you about each artifact in the museum. What I love is that there is an adult version and a children’s version. How does the children’s version differ? It tells the kids about the children aboard the Titanic and interesting facts for them. My kids loved listening to the stories and see all the items from Titanic. There are really fun things to experience at the museum including sticking you hands in water as cold as it was that fateful night, touching an ice wall, climbing on decks at the angles of the sinking ship, feeling like you are walking outside on deck of the Titanic, videos about the events, pictures, voice recordings of survivors and so much more. This is an impressive stop in Branson and definitely worth the time and admission to experience it.

Shows

I’m very excited to head to the Sights and Sounds Theatre and experience Jonah. I haven’t seen it before but I have heard amazing things about this show. I’m sure after all I have read and heard that my kids are going to be just as interested as I am.

Jonah is the epic adventure that has delighted audiences young and old. An uplifting, powerful show full of surprises set 700 years before the birth of Christ, Jonah delivers a powerful and timely message that resonates no more clearly than today. The journey of Jonah, a faithful, righteous prophet of God, begins when he disobeys God and runs away from the Lord. His adventure takes him through a terrible storm, an encounter with an enormous fish, his new life in a wicked empire and the struggles he faces through what becomes the greatest revival in history. Jonah is a story of extremes we face as we trust in the Lord. Through it all, God reveals His extreme mercy and love not only for Jonah but His love for all.

With the costumes, scenery, music and special effects I’m really looking forward to this show. This show is new for 2014 so perhaps it is time for a trip to Branson so you can catch this new show!

We are going to have a busy several days but it is going to be so much fun and create such great family memories. My kids already love Branson and often talk about the things we have done there. I’m very happy to be adding to the list of things they love in Branson. What a great family vacation destination! Following along while we are on the trip so you can experience it along with us!
