I LOVE the “I Spy My Valentine” cards we made this year. My husband really loves them since he secretly wishes he were a real spy. To make these Valentine’s you’ll need:
- Color printer
- paper to print on (use used brown sticker paper, but aren’t using them as stickers)
- Magnifying glasses (You can order these on Amazon or at local party supply store)
- tape
In order to get into the spy theme we wanted to use paper that looked like it would be on a spy folder. The brown sticker paper we just happened to have worked perfectly, but you can use any kind of paper you want. We used a font that looked like a type writer. Imagine a spy getting this dossier so he can get to work! Download, print and cut out the cards from this file:
Once they are printed and cut then you can attached the magnifying classes with tape. If you want your child to personalize the cards to their classmates have them write on the back before your add the magnifying glasses.
We also had the idea to include a little hidden picture page with this card. I didn’t research that too much but there is probably a small printable one somewhere on the internet. If you included that it would be a fun way for the kids to actually use the magnifying glass. Or you could also include a scavenger hunt list to create a little game with the magnifying class.
Skip the hassle of making them yourself and buy the kit here:
However you decide to give this cute Valentine, I’m sure it’ll be one of the most clever Valentine’s given out in the class! Want more non-candy Valentine ideas? I also have a lot of candy ideas, Valentine mailboxes, treats and more on my Valentine page.
