How to Make and Can Applesauce
It is rare for me to have enough fruits and vegetables to be able to can them because I do a lot of juicing. Usually my problem is not having enough fruits and vegetables but this was not the case this summer. I was blessed to get a car full of 'deer' apples. Even more than I could possibly juice.I realize that canning is kind of a dead (or at least dying) skill. But I grew up doing it, and want to pass the tradition down to my children. If nothing else, we will have more food to … [Read more...]

DIY Phone Covers with Silhouette Clear Sticker Paper
Part of the May Silhouette promotion includes clear sticker paper. Thinking of a cute craft to make with clear sticker paper, besides labels, is harder than you think. Dragon Birthday Cake!
Last year I made my oldest daughter a dragon cake, and this year, my youngest daughter wanted a dragon cake. I have used box mixes in the past, and they were fine, but this year I looked up a yellow cake recipe from Martha Stewart. It is still a bit crumby when I tried to ice it, but it was fine. Next time, I’ll try to find a different cake mix; one that doesn’t fall to crumbs when you cut it! I’m just not that skilled yet! I used a butter cream icing recipe from … [Read more...]
