Reminiscing About Aladdin
I've mentioned many times before on my blog that when I was growing up I was only allowed to watch Disney movies on Sunday's. We had a pretty impressive VHS collection of all the animated Disney movies and so rotating through was easy. Because of this rule in my home I had more Disney movies memorized. Aladdin was no different. When I was younger (and still mostly now) I could quote the entire movie while I was watching it. My favorite part? When Iago copies Jafar saying "Problem with your … [Read more...]

Bringing Aladdin’s Genie to Life
One of the most incredible interviews, that had me in tears several times, was with Eric Goldberg. This man is the animator of Genie, from Aladdin, so you can imagine he has some funny stories to tell. Eric was the first animator on Genie while everyone else was wrapping up Beauty and the Beast. Many times during the interview Eric mentioned his inspiration, Al Hirschfeld, whom he replicated his 'S' curves and drawing style. This matched the Arabian theme of Aladdin as well. Eventually, Eric … [Read more...]

Cinderella On Blu-ray Combo Pack NOW
Last night my husband and I watch Cinderella for the first time. I'm a big fan of the original Disney animated version so I was nervous that the story would get changed a great deal like Disney's other live action movies have done in the past. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the story, though with changes, basically follows the same storyline. It is a beautiful story with such a wonderful message "Have courage and be kind." As I was watching the movie I kept thinking that I couldn't … [Read more...]
