As one final trip before summer ends and we head back to school my family took an #OmahaWeekend vacation inĀ Nebraska. Visit Omaha reached out to me to tell me about their new Omaha Savings App and invited my family to come enjoy some of the attractions that are featured on that app. We were so excited to visit places we've been before and some new destinations as well. River City Star, Omaha Nebraska
My family loves to cruise, whether it be on the ocean or a river, we are all about a cruise! I immediately emailed them asking if they would like a little promotion on Making of a Mom and they agreed! Thank you so much for hosting my family. We arrived 30 minutes early for our cruise. Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, Omaha Nebraska

We were at the zoo on a very hot day and so it was nice to be able to see some animals outside and then head indoors for some more animals in the air conditioning (unless we were … [Read more...]
Lauritzen Gardens, Omaha Nebraska

It was a very hot afternoon, but luckily the gardens are surrounded with tall shade trees so walking around wasn't too bad and there were … [Read more...]
Omaha Children’s Museum

The Omaha Convention and Visitors Bureau generously gave my family passes to visit this great museum while we were in town.I want to note that we got there usingĀ google maps on our phones. The side of the building it took us to didn't have any parking besides on the street, so we parked there and paid a meter. There IS free … [Read more...]
The Durham Museum, Omaha Nebraska
As soon as you drive up to the beautiful old Union Station building that now houses The Durham Museum you know you are in for a treat! This lovely building was announced in 1929 and completed in 1931 to accommodate the rapidly growing railway system in the United States. In 1971 Union Station was closed and after several years of being vacant, it became home to the Western Heritage Museum. It underwent a huge renovation which was completed in 1996 and the museum was renamed The Durham … [Read more...]
