My Netflix Faves
I know I probably have a different taste in TV shows than you probably do, but I thought it would be fun to talk about our favorite shows on Netflix. Since I don't have cable or satellite TV (just a digital antenna that gets about 30 channels) most of the TV I watch is online, either the channel's website or on Netflix. So, what kind of things do I like? Well I'm a Jane Austen lover and so I love to find shows that are set in a similar time period with similar stories. I love a good, clean, … [Read more...]

The Music and Sounds of TinkerBell and the Legend of the Neverbeast
I have a very musical background. Music was important in my home. My Father was a professional musician (classical) for several years of his life. My Mother is a very good organ and piano player. All of their children were required to play an instrument. I took piano lessons for a little while when I was young but didn't love it so I gave that up and picked up a violin. I played all through high school and on my own in college. I still dabble with it here and there. As a Mother I know the … [Read more...]
Learning about the Animation in TinkerBell and the Legend of the Neverbeast
Man, is animation a complicated business! Listening to Mike Greenholt and Ryan Green explain the process of animating TinkerBell and the Legend of the Neverbeast and specifically creating the movements of Gruff, was amazing and confusing. HA!One thing that is very interesting that I have been learning on these Disney trips where we get to learn more about the behind-the-scenes is that it takes a TON of people to make a movie, especially an animated movie because 1 person usually only works … [Read more...]

Interview with Ryan Potter and Daniel Henney
Once I saw Big Hero 6 I was in love, so getting to interview the actors from the film was super exciting for me! Daniel Henny voices Tadashi and Ryan Potter voices Hiro. Though they had only met at the first screening of the film, they definitely seem to have a brotherhood. They are very playful and respectful with each other. It's always interesting to learn how the actors are similar to the characters they are playing. Ryan said that he loves to create things. He like to build, use his … [Read more...]
Interviewing Jim White and the Diaz Brothers – the Real Inspirations for McFarland, USA
When Jim White and the 3 Diaz brothers walked into the room, I was so excited. At the end of McFarland, USA the movie does a "where are they now?" type thing and they are in the movie, running with the current McFarland High School track team. From the movie and the recap of things that are happening now, I felt like I knew them, like we were old friends. The guys were all so humble and so proud of the film. Sometimes it can be tricky turning real life events into a film, making sure you … [Read more...]
OurPact Helps Parents Manage Screen Time
There are screens galore at my house and everyone knows how to use them, even my two-year old and do his thing on a tablet without any help from me. Now I really don't mind all the screens we have and I don't mind my kids using them. The majority of the games on our tablets and phones are educational and we have some movies. The key to keeping Momma happy with the screens is by limited use.My 5-year-old is the worst offender. He loves to watch toy review videos on YouTube, so I'll tell him … [Read more...]
The Men Behind Big Hero 6: Don Hall and Chris Williams

They view the world in a way that is different from most of us and are able to take that view and create a fictional story that almost seems real.Don Hall and Chris Williams are the directors of Big Hero 6. The whole project started from Hall finishing up Winnie the Pooh and needing another project. Since he has a love for animation and Marvel he started doing some research and discovered Big Hero 6.
