Pumpkin Patch

October 30, 2012 By Johanna

We’ve made our local pumpkin patch a yearly event. First, we slide down the big slide a few times,      we see the pigs, the calves, the horse (Silky),          the donkey (Ted), the ducks and the chickens.     We take a hayrack ride, and then we … [Read more...]

Signazon.com Review

October 25, 2012 By Johanna

We’ve got a new website for you! Signazon.com makes any kind of sign you can think of! So fun! I made this banner for Halloween. It is great quality; thick and sturdy and it even comes with metal grommets. (I used 5,000 Blog Titles and Quotes to come up with a cute saying…) The color is beautiful, bright and true to what I designed. It’s also super easy- just upload your design (I made mine with MS Word, saved it as a pdf and uploaded it! So quick!) or use one of their design templates and … [Read more...]

Star Gazing

October 23, 2012 By Johanna

Did anyone else step out to see the meteor shower this weekend? We did! We got up at 5:15am on Sunday morning, threw on our sweatshirts over our jammies and drove out to the country to get away from the city lights. We took pillows and blankets (which we didn’t really need because it was a balmy 60F) and lay on the back of our car. It was a PERFECT night! The sky was clearer than I have ever seen it before. My sister stepped out after feeding her newborn at 2am, and she said the … [Read more...]

I should buy stock in Tylenol…

October 16, 2012 By Johanna

So my little 4 year old decided it might be fun to swing from a rope…with her teeth…All I know is she’s handing me a tooth-root and all- and telling me through a mouth full of blood that she thinks she might die. She’s my crazy one; we’ve done stitches 4 times already in her little life! At least she was clear headed enough to bring it to me! Good job baby! And I knew enough to drop it in a cup of milk! Way to go Mom! Can you imagine having a tooth extracted without any … [Read more...]

I Promise I Wasn’t Speeding- Part 2

October 11, 2012 By Johanna

A little bit of back story…in my original post, I didn’t mention that when I was pulled over, my kids were terrified that I was going to jail. Couple that with my saying something about the ticket costing an arm and a leg and my poor kids have been picturing me in a jail cell missing a limb or two. My oldest made me promise before I left for court that I would call home to let her know if I was going to prison.I went to court to contest my speeding ticket and after waiting an hour for the … [Read more...]

A Caterpillar Named Parsley

October 4, 2012 By Johanna

While gardening at Grandma’s house, the girl’s found a bright green caterpillar on her parsley. As all good Grandmas do, my mom happens to have a bug cage. We put the caterpillar and some parsley into the cage; all the while making him sea sick and talking entirely too loudly in his little face. After a few days of eating parsley like a crazy maniac, my oldest daughter decided that his name should be Parsley. (For Biddle’s Sake anyone?)When he stopped eating and started wandering around the … [Read more...]

Ghostly Halloween Tree

September 20, 2012 By Johanna

My girls have been asking to do a craft, and since I’m starting to put Halloween décor everywhere, it’s getting me in the mood for some spooky crafting! I decided to take a page from the Easter crafts we did and just make it Halloween-ish. While the kiddos were at school, I found a gnarly branch in the front yard, spray painted it black and stuck it in a pot on the front porch. When the girls came home from school, I had our stuff ready: a box of tissues, yarn (you could always use ribbon- … [Read more...]

I promise I wasn’t speeding!

September 18, 2012 By Johanna

Okay folks! Here’s the low-down: I’m 30 years old, I’ve never been in a vehicle accident and I’ve only had 1 speeding ticket… until last weekend. My kids and I were on our way to KC to go to Worlds Of Fun with Stefanie and her family. We were only about 20 minutes into our 3 hour drive when I was stopped by a police officer just outside a very small town. Driving through the town, the speed limit drops to 55. When you enter the town, there is a flashing sign that tells you how fast you are … [Read more...]

Back-to-School Fiesta!

September 6, 2012 By Johanna

So last week, we had a party for the kids at our church. It was a Fiesta to celebrate the new school year and we had so much fun! My girls and I went into the the church gym the day before to get all the tables and chairs set up and then get it all decorated. It took 4 hours, but it looked so fun!!I purchased the tables covers, games, pinatas, bulk candy, and everything for our goody bags (bags, bookmarks, pencils, erasers, stickers) from Oriental Trading Company.  I love them!  They shipped … [Read more...]

HaHas for HooHas

September 4, 2012 By Johanna

Okay, so mostly I just think farting is yucky. (Necessary, but yucky.) Unless it’s a big one from a tiny child; those are funny. But my sister, her husband and her kids think farting is HILARIOUS. My niece sent an email with a link, which I immediately KNEW had to be something about farts. But, I read it anyway, and I have to say, I laughed out loud! The story is, “The Fart That (Almost) Altered My Destiny” Which brings me to HaHasforHooHas.com- “because funny women need funny e-cards.” It’s a … [Read more...]

Have a piece of blue paper ready2. Tear a thin-ish strip of green paper for grass and glue it to the bottom of the blue paper3.
