snake cake

Moving on on our quick and easy birthday cake series is this cute Slinky Snake cake. One thing I love about this cake is you can make is small, or really big! If you have a large crowd coming over, just make an extra bundt and add a little extra slither to the snake.

DIRECTIONS

2 10 inch bundt cakes (I only used one for this picture)

1 cake board, covered (I used a cutting board covered in foil)

2 16 oz. containers white frosting (I only needed one since I only used one cake)

1 cup chocolate chips (I used decorator gel)

Red Fruit Rollup

Assorted Candies

  1. Cut each bundt in half. Position each bundt end to end to form one long serpentine shape. Place on prepared board attaching pieces with small amount of frosting. Cut Bundts in Half
  2. Dye frosting lime green (or whatever color you want your snake). Frost entire cake. IF
  3. Place chocolate chips in small plastic food storage bag. Microwave on Medium power 20 seconds. Knead bag several times, and microwave again 20 second more, repeat until chocolate is melted. Cut off corner tip and pipe diamond patter onto back of snake. I used decorator gel for the diamond pattern.
  4. Cut out tongue from fruit rollup. Decorate face and back of snake with candies. (I used my leftover peach rings from the Island Fun cake for the eyes.) IF
