What I Learned Driving Across Kansas
Early in October I was blessed to be able to drive all over the state of Kansas with the Kansas Farm Bureau and the Kansas Soybean Commission. All expenses were covered but all opinions are my own.I grew up in Southern California. I was very much a city girl with little exposure to the "country". When we moved to Kansas in 2007 it was a shock to my system. We lived in a tiny town of 12,000 in central Kansas and I basically hated everyday of my 4 years there. The people were wonderful, the … [Read more...]

DIY BOO Kit
This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #BOOItForward #CollectiveBiasWhen my husband and I were in college we loved to do cutesy things like ding dong ditching our friends and leaving a treat on their porch. We would often do it around holidays. We would "Heart Attack" people for Valentine's Day. "Egg" people for Easter (No real eggs were used in that fun). Reminiscing About Aladdin
I've mentioned many times before on my blog that when I was growing up I was only allowed to watch Disney movies on Sunday's. We had a pretty impressive VHS collection of all the animated Disney movies and so rotating through was easy. Because of this rule in my home I had more Disney movies memorized. Aladdin was no different. When I was younger (and still mostly now) I could quote the entire movie while I was watching it. My favorite part? When Iago copies Jafar saying "Problem with your … [Read more...]

Bringing Aladdin’s Genie to Life
One of the most incredible interviews, that had me in tears several times, was with Eric Goldberg. This man is the animator of Genie, from Aladdin, so you can imagine he has some funny stories to tell. Eric was the first animator on Genie while everyone else was wrapping up Beauty and the Beast. Many times during the interview Eric mentioned his inspiration, Al Hirschfeld, whom he replicated his 'S' curves and drawing style. This matched the Arabian theme of Aladdin as well. Eventually, Eric … [Read more...]
