Fun Ways to ‘Teach My Toddler’

October 4, 2014 By Stefanie

Teach My has partnered with Making of a Mom in the 2014 Holiday Gift Guide. Regardless of compensation all opinions are 100% my own.
Teach-My-Toddler

You’ve heard the phrase “Kids are like sponges” right? Well it’s true. My toddler who is 21 months old is walking proof of that. He loves learning. He loves doing any activity that will help him learn his numbers, shapes, colors or alphabet. Back when he was a little baby, he and I would play with the Teach My Baby Learning Kit. Now he has graduated to “tougher” challenges that the Teach My Toddler Learning Kit provides him.

Teach My has been a company I have worked with and loved for over a year now. When my toddler was a baby he LOVED the Teach My Baby Kit and all the fun things completely age appropriate. Please check out my Teach My Baby Review here to get all the details! Teach My Baby Learning Kit features activities for First Words, First Numbers, Self – learning some body parts and Sound & Touch. The Teach My Baby kit has easy puzzle, fuzzy animals, little finger puppets and mirrors. It is so perfect for curious babies.

This year my baby has become a toddler. He now loves counting to 10 and singing his ABC’s. The Teach My Toddler Learning Kit is perfect for his stage of life.

Alphabet

Teach My Toddler includes

  • Upper case and lower case foam alphabet puzzle
  • Alphabet flash cards
  • Alphabet board book
  • Big alphabet poster

Numbers

One of my toddler’s favorite things to do is count to 10 and then clap. He was so excited when we got out the number puzzle and book. He was counting and clapping and super excited.  We counted all the items on the back of the flash cards and counted our fingers. It was a lot of fun! He spent 30 minutes on this part of the Teach My Toddler Kit alone. He really loves numbers.

Teach My Toddler includes

  • Foam 1-10 number puzzle
  • Number flash cards
  • Number board book
  • Big number poster

Shapes

Teach-My-Toddler-Shapes

I haven’t worked on shapes much with my son, so we spent some time talking about different shapes. Once I showed him a star we broke into “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.” It was so cute! We sang the song a couple times. Then I tried making up some songs for the other shapes. It didn’t work too well… oh well.

Teach My Toddler includes

  • Foam shape puzzle
  • Shape Flash cards
  • Shape board book
  • Big shape poster

Colors

Teach-My-Toddler-Colors

All the pretty colors of the Color section of the Teach My Toddler Kit got my son really excited. He loved pointing to the different colors and having me say their names. He would mimic the names. He really loved the board book.

Teach My Toddler includes

  • Colors foam puzzle
  • Color flash cards
  • Color board book
  • Color big poster

The Teach My Toddler kit is the perfect next step for your child. Teach my baby is such a fun beginning learning kit for babies with so many different textures and things to play with. Teach My Toddler is a wonderful next step that offers a little more “challenge” for toddlers. Although my son knows how to count to ten, he needs to work on all the other sections that this learning kit provides. What a fun way to have some mother/son bonding and teaching times. He won’t even know that he’s learning because he’ll be having so much fun. I LOVE these Teach My Products! Visit the Teach My site to learn more. Teach My products can be purchased online or in Toys R Us stores nationwide.

Have older children or want more advanced learning kits? Teach My has great products for older children as well. Check out my reviews of Teach My sets about animals, time, the solar system and continents.

This is perfect for my toddler. We homeschool so this is a great way to give my little one a head start. She feels a little left when I am homeschooling her brothers.

It definitely is perfect! It’s like a baby and toddler version of beginning homeschooling. It is tons of fun!

This is the perfect solution for preschoolers! It is never to early to start teaching them and this kit sounds like the perfect way to make learning fun!

I don’t have toddlers but can tell that I wish I had this when my kids were younger. What a fun interactive way to bond with your child, have fun and help them learn at the same time.

Thanks for a detailed information! I loved it!

The thing I wanted to say is: A child who struggles with reading in 1st grade will often decide to avoid reading for the rest of their life. This is a common issue that has to be fixed. We should begin teaching our children from the year 2. They are capable of learning being that age and the progress is a lot quickier than learning at age 6 or 7. The sooner you will teach you child discipline, the sooner they will start thinking about the futures importance.

However, sitting and sharing a book with your toddler lets you establish a habit of sharing an experience with them. You will be very grateful for this type of communication as they get older. By reading together you are improving your ability to talk with each other.

Ive got to say that starting at early-age really helped for me and my child. Don’t just randomly do your teaching. I think proper reading program is a must to consider. I did use some of them, one of the most loved is this one

First – thanks for a great review! Excellent post. My kids are too old for this now, but I have a few toddlers on my holiday shopping list… I think they’d love this, and so would their moms! 🙂

I love these learning kits. I think they are a great teaching tool to get your little one prepared for school. I like how they have different set for each age group.

This would be great for my 2 year old grand daughter. I think she is very bright (I might be a bit biased) and would love these tools.
