Flag Rice Krispie Treats

Flag-Rice-Krispie-Treats

I love that there are several patriotic holidays throughout the year so that my Patriotic ideas can be used several times throughout the year. While I have a lot of patriotic craft ideas, I’m new to the patriotic recipe field. Let’s dip our toes into this pool together with these Flag Rice Krispie Treats.

First you’ll make traditional Rice Krispie Treats. Then transform them into these adorable flags. You can even insert a lollipop stick if you want to make them Flag pops!

Ingredients-
4 Cups Rice Crispy cereal
10 oz bag of marshmallows
3 Tablespoons + 1/2 teaspoon softened butter
2 1/2 Cups White chocolate melts
1 Cup red chocolate melts
1 Cup blue chocolate melts

You will also need-
Shallow 9×13″ pan
Lollipop sticks (optional)
2 Small sandwich bags
3 Small microwave safe bowls
3 Small spoons for mixing
Parchment paper

Directions-
1. Lightly grease your pan with a 1/2 teaspoon of softened butter
2. Place your marshmallows and 3 tablespoons of butter in a large mixing bowl and heat in the microwave until the marshmallows get puffy
3. Mix in your Rice Krispies cereal
4. Scoop and press your mixture into your greased baking pan
5. Place in the freezer for one hour, then cut into rectangle pieces
6. Using three separate microwave safe bowl’s, microwave your chocolate melts on 50% power for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until melted
7. Dip 3/4 of your Rice Krispie rectangles into your white melted chocolate and place on a piece of parchment paper

8. Now pour your blue and red melted chocolate into two separate sandwich bags and cut a small corner off each one
9. Drizzle on your red stripes with your melted red chocolate

10. Then drizzle your blue chocolate in the top left corner and place back on your parchment paper to harden
11. (Optional) Place a lollipop stick into the bottom center of your flag Rice Krispie treats and enjoy!
