7 Beauty Hacks for Busy Moms

September 14, 2020 By Stefanie

Being a mom is a full-time job! For mothers juggling work, home chores, and children’s care, the situation is even worse. With such a schedule, it is easy for one to forget about oneself. However, this need not be the case. As a mom, you should try and take care of yourself by minding what you eat and how you look and how you feel. According to research, good looks and a cosmetic touch can be a great confidence booster, and moms are entitled to that glow.

“But I don’t have time to keep up with the beauty standards,” you may say. Well, that may be true, but you do not need a lot of time to get that healthy, radiant look. Simple routines can do the trick. If you feel like that’s what you need, look no further, we’ve compiled for you a list of some of the easiest beauty hacks for moms:

Egg white mask

An egg white face mask can do wonders. Even though it may not be an immediate solution to all beauty issues, the egg white face mask has several benefits when used repetitively. One of the core benefits of a face mask is that it helps to tone your skin, removes the dead cells on the face and excess dirt while at the same time firming the skin.

According to many, getting the egg white face mask does not have to be a complicated affair. However, beating an egg, discarding the yolk, and applying the egg white can yield the desired effect. You can do this as you prepare your child’s breakfast or some minutes before going to bed.

Lock in makeup with hairspray

This tip may be one of the oldest makeup tricks used by makeup artists. As a mom, you may not have time to do touch-ups throughout the day. Moreover, if you get the time to do your makeup in the morning, you can make it stick by spraying hairspray (or better yet, sprays made for setting your makeup) on your face after doing the makeup. This way, your makeup will remain fresh throughout the day.

Wash your hair less often

Whether you use natural hair products or not, washing your hair less often can free up some time while retaining the glamour. But, exactly how often should you wash your hair? Well, there is no universal answer to that question, but three times a week can be sufficient. On the other hand, this may depend on aspects such as climatic factors, the type of hair, and personality. To make the most out of this tip, consult your hairstylist.

Try baby oil on your skin

Have you ever wondered why celebrities get the radiant, glowing skin? You might think that is a result of using some high-end beauty products. But did you know that you can get the same effect from your child’s baby oil? If you didn’t know this, some of the high-end products’ would constitute nearly similar ingredients. Additionally, baby oil serves as an anti-aging highlighter when applied on the cheekbones.

Keep your brows in line using lip balm

If you tend to have unruly eyebrows, you can always keep them looking good even with limited resources. If you have a clean, spare toothbrush and some lip balm in hand, that may be all that you need. Consider applying a generous amount and brush the brows outwards from your nose. This remedy can be of help as it can give the brows a glowing radiance.

When it comes to choosing the right eyebrow shape, it is important to consider a few things. Firstly, take a look at the natural shape of your eyebrows and work with that as a starting point. It’s also important to consider the shape of your face, as certain eyebrow shapes can help to balance out your features and enhance your natural beauty. Another factor to consider is your personal style and preferences, as some people may prefer a more natural look while others may opt for a more dramatic, defined eyebrow shape. Luckily, there are a number of guides that help you know how to choose the right eyebrow shape, so don’t be afraid to do a little research and experimentation to find the perfect look.

Soothe irritated skin using oatmeal

You do not have to discard the oatmeal leftovers if you have irritated skin. Rather than using commercial products that may irritate it further, you can consider a more natural remedy such as the oatmeal leftover and some honey to help it stick. After letting the oatmeal rest for about 8 minutes, rinse it and rub it softly. But don’t rub it off.

When all else fails, innovate

If you have chapped lips, you can use a washcloth to massage them. This will remove the chapped skin by rubbing it off. To do this, you can inventively use other clean pieces of clothing. Furthermore, you can go ahead and apply your kid’s baby oil on your lips for that soft and appealing touch. If you are on the run and your lipstick is ruined, you can crush some berries and apply the natural, red liquid on lips and cheeks.

There is no reason why you should not look young forever. The glow that comes with doing simple cosmetic practices cannot be taken for granted. The above tips can go a long way into making your beauty routine while keeping up with the kids and family life.
