We also received from Educational Insights, a fun word game, Pass the Peas. This stacking, sliding word game is recommended for children ages 8+ although I found my 8 year old struggled playing. In this fun game everyone receives a pea pod and a bag of letters. After choosing 10 letters out of your bag you flip the timer over and have 30 seconds to build a word. When the timer is up you “pass your peas” to your neighbor. Once again you flip the timer and everyone has a chance to build a new word from the previous players word. You can add letters before, on top of or after the other players word. This is really tricky if you aren’t good at spelling… like some members of my family! 🙂 After you are finished switching to everyone playing it is time to count your points. You get one point for every pea you have showing.
I think for easier game play with young kids or bad spellers you could remove the 30 second time and increase the time limit. Maybe 1-2 minutes. For those of you that are very good with words and love word games this would be a fun game and a new challenge for you to try! You can purchase Pass the Peas from the Educational Insights page for $17.99.
Educational Insights is giving one lucky reader their own Pass the Peas game. Making of a Mom is not responsible for prize shipment. Winner will be verified, emailed and have 48 hours to respond, no exceptions. This giveaway will run from November 20 through November 27 and is open to US and CANADA. Enter through the rafflecopter below. Good luck!
