Recently our vacuum bit the dust. It’s always sad when that happens because I think it is hard to find a replacement vacuum. There are so many to choose from and so many different price points that it can get stressful. Since I have a good relationship with Shark I emailed them asking if they had anything I could review. To my delight, they said yes! and sent over the Shark Rocket Ultra-Light Upright Vacuum.
The shape of the vacuum is definitely unique but this is what makes it “ultra-light”. The whole vacuum weighs only 8 pounds. Another great thing about the shape of this vacuum is that with all of the included attachments it is so easy to clean ANY surface.
In this picture my husband took off the bottom of the vacuum and replaced it with a wand. Now it is so easy to clean the other side of our stairs. It is also very easy to vacuum the crumbs found in between your couch cushions this way and along baseboards.
There is also an attachment that is meant for hard floors such as wood, tile, laminate and vinyl. This flat bottom attachment includes a microfiber pad to help get all the dust off the floor while vacuuming at the same time. It is so nice!!
My favorite part of this vacuum being so flexible is this! The ability to remove the center section and just attach the carpet vacuum right to the dust collector and vacuum the stairs so easily. Regular vacuums are so heavy and you have to lug it up each individual stair. This light vacuum enables you to only attach the necessary components to get the job done easily and fast!
To recap here are some amazing features of the Shark Rocket:
- Enhanced Swivel Steering and a low profile nozzle delivers “go anywhere” versatility.
- Dual Power Settings makes it easy to go from bare floors to carpets and rugs.
- Additional features include:
o Dust-Away™ Attachment with Microfiber Pad: Completely capture dust particles from all bare floor surfaces by vacuuming large debris and picking up fine dust.
o Crevice Tool: 12 inches of extended reach for hard to reach spaces.
o Dusting Brush and Pet/Upholstery Tool and wall mount for convenient storage.
As you read this vacuum does have the swivel technology. For someone who has never used a swivel vacuum it is VERY different from a traditional vacuum. It was (and still is) hard for me to get used to the swivel and so I don’t totally love that part of it yet, but I can see why it is useful. It just takes getting used to.
I also love that since the vacuum is so flexible I can just lower my arm that is using the vacuum and get under most pieces of furniture. We don’t have to move everything out of the way anymore. I can just bend down a little and get the flat little vacuum under more things. That is very nice.
The Shark Rocket retails for $179.99 and you can purchase it directly from the Shark site.
I am a huge Shark fan so you can also ready about my experience with the Shark Steam & Spray Mop here.
What are your vacuuming struggles? Do you think this vacuum has features that would solve those issues?

Tube lights can offer a tasteful and useful item if deployed in the home well. They generate a lot of light so if a section of your home has a poor light coverage, especially in winter, it can be worth investing in a floor lamp with a tube light to give your home the extra illumination, and flexibility of how bright you want the room on a given day.
