What about the day-to-day? Growing up every Sunday we had the same meal. My Mom would make a Pot Roast, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, rolls and Jello. Sunday evenings we would make homemade ice cream. Sunday was a family day filled with tradition.
During the week we even had snacks, that now as an adult, remind me of home. I am the caboose in my family. As the baby of 7 with many, many years between me and the next child, my siblings played a role in raising me. My sister’s would eat fried cheese (cheese slices placed on a glass plate, cooked in the microwave) as a snack and so I wanted it also. They would make it for me as I was too small to handle a knife to cut some cheese slices or too young to work the microwave. I have no idea how this snack came to be but I loved it!
Now as the Mother of 3 little cheese lovers I can prepare this same snack for my kids in our GE microwave.
