The Sweet Smells of Hershey Gardens

July 8, 2014 By Jason

Hershey Gardens

One of the many perks about staying at Hershey Lodge is that when you check in you get free tickets to visit Hershey Gardens. This is definitely a fun stop for the whole family and a great place to let your kids roam free.

Hershey Gardens

Hershey Gardens is a huge 23-acre botanical garden. There is a nice walking trail that guides you through all the different areas of the gardens. There are 11 themed gardens and The Children’s Garden and The Butterfly House; there is something for everyone in the whole family.  During the summer there are more than 5,000 beautiful rose bushes and hundreds of other flowers to enjoy.

Our favorite part of Hershey Gardens was the Children’s Garden, especially the Butterfly House. The Butterfly House has hundreds of butterflies flying around and resting on the plants and flowers inside. There is also a caterpillar habitat where they live until they turn into cocoons. Then all the cocoons are moved to the cocoon cabinet where you can watch the new butterflies emerge.

Also in the Children’s Garden are many interactive activities like wooden xylophones and chimes, play ground area and a really cool ball fountain.

Cool huh!

The kids had such a fun day wandering through all the beautiful flowers and getting to have fun playing in the Children’s Garden.

Our son went to medical school out there and it is a really nice place to visit. Love the smell of the chocolate in Hershey Lodge and other places and the Hershey Kiss street lights.
