Shrinky Dinks I Heart You Cards Review and Giveaway

By now you can tell my kids love to do crafts! The I Heart You cards with Shrinky Dinks from Creativity for Kids was no exception! My husband was super excited for the kids to use the Shrinky Dinks. He insists that as a child of the 80’s I should know all about them. Apparently they were huge then and he used them as a kid. I had no idea what he was talking about so the kids and I learned about them together.

Shrinky Dinks are a special vellum paper that when heated up shrinks to make hard embellishments to decorate with. First you color the cute shrinky dink pictures.

Once the pictures are all colored, cut them out. Once they are cute out stick them on a foil covered cookie sheet and preheat your oven to 350.

You bake the shrinky dinks for about 1 minute. It is normal for them to curl, don’t worry, they will flatten. Once the shrinky dinks flatten themselves out, give them another 30 seconds and then they are done. Now look at their size. They don’t call them “shrinky” for no reason. Now these small, hardened pictures make the perfect embellishment for your cards.

My daughter loves to make cards for her Grandparents and friends so she got right on decorating her cards. She turned each shrinky dink into a bigger picture once you open the card. It was very creative!
