Red Gold Tomatoes Slow Cooker Recipe + Giveaway

Fall is making it presence known little by little in my area of the country. We enjoyed some weather in the 50’s last week and this week is starting off still cool in the 60’s. I love it so much. Fall is the perfect time to get out the slow cooker and enjoy warm meals together as a family. Red Gold wants to help you create those meals by offering delicious recipes that include their wonderful tomato products.

Red Gold has been around since the 1940s growing tomatoes in Indiana, Ohio and Michigan, where true seasons positively impact flavor — with just the right angle of the sun, perfect temperature, and soil that seems made for growing tomatoes. Using tomatoes in soups, stews and casseroles may also offer more nutrition than fresh. When tomatoes are heated, the antioxidant lycopene (linked to several health benefits) is released.

Because of this, Red Gold is offering an awesome “2-a-day Crock-Pot® Giveaway”! What does this mean? Every day, from September 17 through October 8, on the Red Gold Facebook page they will be giving 2 of their loyal Red Gold fans a Red Gold branded Crock-Pot. That is 44 Crock-Pots in over 3 weeks! In addition, Red Gold will be sharing some new Crock-Pot recipes.

I wanted to share one of these new recipes here so you could get dinner started right away!

Red-Gold-Mac-Cheese

Slow Cooker Spicy Macaroni & Cheese

 
Servings: 8    |    Preparation Time: 15 minutes    |    Cook Time: 240 minutes
2cups pasta of choice, uncooked
2tablespoons butter
8ounces processed American cheese, cut into cubes
8ounces cream cheese, cut into cubes
1teaspoon Dijon mustard
1cup low fat milk
1/2cup whipping cream
1(12 ounce) can evaporated milk
1(14.5 ounce) can Red Gold® Petite Diced Tomatoes With Green Chilies, drained or 2 (10 ounce) cans Red Gold® Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies , drained

  • Place the uncooked pasta in the bottom of a 3.5-qt. crock pot that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Add the remaining ingredients, except RED GOLD® PETITE DICED TOMATOES with GREEN CHILIES, to the slow cooker and stir until well combined. Cook on LOW for 4 hours.
  • Just before serving add RED GOLD® PETITE DICED TOMATOES with GREEN CHILIES; stir to combine.

    My favorite tomato dish is a caprese salad with fresh mozzarella and basil! With canned tomatoes, definitely chili!

    My favorite is fresh homegrown heirloom tomatoes. But, with cooked tomatoes, it’s spaghetti sauce, slow cooked and with lots of meat and olive oil.

    mine would have to be my mexican chicken dish thanks for this chance it uses their tomatoes n chillis mix and i love this recipe im gonna try this

    My husband and I are Paleo, so tomatoes are a major staple at dinner! I think my favorite is deconstructed cabbage rolls 🙂

    I use tomatoes in literally everything !! I love to make chili, lasagna, pizza sauces , spaghetti…..so much to choose from !!

    I have so many favorite tomato dishes that I buy canned diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and tomato paste all in bulk. I love chili, spaghetti sauce, lasagna, and sloppy joes.

    my favorite tomato dish is chili!

    2 cans of red gold tomatoes (diced)
    can of kidney beans, drained and rinsed
    can of black beans, drained and rinsed
    packet of low sodium chili seasoning
    1/2 cup of corn (fresh or frozen or canned)
    1/2 lb ground turkey, seasoned and cooked, crumbled

    yum~!

    I make my own Italian tomato gravy with an old recipe from my sister’s Italian father-in-law who owned an Italian restaurant. It is so good and I use it for everything Italian. It is my favorite tomato dish.
