While I was out of town earlier this month a big package arrived at my house. The contents? An Organic Cotton Quilted Mattress from Naturepedic. This was super news for my son because we had an empty bunk bed he was anxiously waiting to sleep in. With the arrival of his mattress he could finally occupy the top bunk!

Everyone helped with the unboxing of the mattress and ran around with excitement. Finally the bunk beds would be slept in! Why were my husband and I so excited to have received this particular mattress? Because these mattress are superior in many ways! Before I learned about Naturepedic I had no idea there were chemicals in our mattresses. I didn’t know we were sleeping next to things I wouldn’t want my children or myself next to, let alone for 8 hours a night (if we’re lucky!).

Though Naturepedic sells several different styles of mattresses and bedding, I received the Organic Cotton Quilted Deluxe mattress in twin size. This mattress is also available in Twin 2 sided (meaning one side is waterproof), Twin XL, Full 1 and 2 sided and Queen 2 sided. According to mattermattress.com, a baby mattress should be firm.

Since these kids mean more to me than anything, I’m so happy to have this clean, organic, safe mattress for them. You know how home life goes, musical beds, so I’m sure at one point or another each of them will have their turn sleeping on the Naturepedic mattress and I don’t have to worry about a thing. I will definitely start my mattress fund to start switching my other mattress over to Naturepedic as well.

    Sounds great; I’d love a twin for my grandson. His bunk is twin at the top and full on the bottom for little brother. If I win, I’d only have to get a full for him.

    Actually, I need a new mattress badly! I can’t even sleep on my bed because it’s like sleeping on a sheet of plywood! So, I sleep on the couch, but I have Scoliosis, making that choice painful also. Anyway, good luck everyone:).

    My son could. Hes using a mattress from the 60’s or 70’s. Hes just a little guy so its ok. But id love for him to have a nice one.

    An organic mattress is good for everyone in the family–it’s always better not to spend a third of one’s life sleeping next to toxic chemicals!

    My daughter – She is still using the same mattress that my hubby used as a teenager on her trundle bed. I would like for this organic mattress to be her main mattress so that her current mattress can go on the trundle. Then we can throw out her dad’s old mattress for once and for all! 🙂
