My Salon Quality Hair with @NuNAAT

I have big hair. We are talking REALLY BIG! I have some natural curl, not cute curl, ugly awkward curl, which makes my hair have a lot of volume. I fight this volume with a straight iron cranked up to 400 degrees! hehe I have been doing this to my hair since the middle of high school when it clicked that I was walking around looking like a frizz ball.

I was super excited to learn about nuNAAT products, and more specifically their Brazilian Keratin line to help me fight the frizz battle. nunaat productThis is what nuNAAT says about this collection:

NAAT Brazilian Keratin collection restores and intensifies your hair’s nutritional balance, leaving it incredibly smooth, strong and flexible. Unlike typical animal-based keratins, our exclusive Green Keratin formula stays in your hair longer and is more resistant to rinsing. Promotes vibrancy and hydration, giving hair a natural, healthy shine.

At first I was a little intimidated to have 5 products to add to my hair. I am very low maintenance, and so I thought this was going to be rough. I read all the bottles and kind of formulated a plan. Since I am not very knowledgeable about hair care products I stumbled around at first figuring out what order to work things (I could seriously have benefited from the bottles be numbered in order of use! lol) but once I read the site all about this collection, I got it!

I replaced all my “usual” hair care products for the past few weeks with these gems. I was very hopeful that for the first time in a long time I wouldn’t be a slave to my flat iron, but I was wrong. On the instructions of some of the bottles it talks about putting it in your hair and then blowing your hair dry  and using the flat iron. I wanted these products to “cure” that part of my routine but they didn’t.IMG_1324

What they did do is make my hair smoother, softer, shinier, more healthy looking and feeling, and in the long run, flatter. Even though I still have to use my flat iron, my hair stay flat for longer. Even today when it is crazy humid outside, my hair is still FLAT! What?! That has NEVER happened to me before. I LOVE that so much about these products that it cancels out my disappointment for still using my flat iron.

Let go back to the part where I told you there were five products to use. This is very high maintenance for me. 4 of them are very easy. Just shampoo your hair, condition it (leave this in for a couple minutes) then when you are out of the shower I added the leave in reconstructor  and the ultra shine serum, but there was one that doesn’t really fit into my routine. The intensive hair mask is to be left in for about 15 minutes. My whole shower time is 15 minutes, not just one part of it! But the thing about this product is you only need to use it once every week or two, so I have decided to take a little extra me time once a week and use the hair mask!

Overall this stuff is great! I love the Brazilian Keratin Collection. Although it didn’t solve my hair issues in the way I hoped, it has helped. I love the way my hair looks and feels. It smells pretty good. It reminds my of being at the salon and with all the fancy hair care that is now going on in my shower, it’s like I’m at the salon! I have so much hair and it has lots of natural wave and curl. This product would certainly help it lay right. Big hair is coming back but not frizzy and using such high heat damages it more than anything. Even a dab of VO5 would help if your hair is that frizzy. I use it and it sure get me a lot of comments but these products I think would help even more. 🙂 Oh and I never ever use heat on my hair. I just can’t ruin it. It is very healthy and stays shiny so I won’t burn it up. 🙂
