We had invited all our family that was in Texas to come with us and one of my sister’s and her family did come. We didn’t have reservations together but they were very nice to figure out how to get us near each other at such last minute. All the employees were so friendly and helpful.
After browsing the website we decided the meal would be a lot like Dolly Parton’s Stampede, which we LOVE. We knew we’d be eating with our hands and looked forward to it. Once it was time to enter the arena we were seated by colors on our crown to keep it organized. We easily found our seats. Our waiter introduced himself, gave us a funny speech about cheering for our knight and a booing the others and took our drink order. The whole evening is basically a rehearsed dance, from what is happening in the show to the waiters delivering food. It’s very smooth.
If you missed out on purchasing anything before your trip to the castle, there were people walking around selling light up toys, pretend weapons and flags. We decided we get a few flags so that we could cheer our best!
It turned out we were in the wrong section, as far as winning goes. Our Knight won some of the competition type games but when it came to the jousting and fighting, he just kept losing. We still had fun.
The price of tickets is really expensive so we didn’t pay extra for any birthday or anniversary acknowledgements or special items to be at our table. If you had extra money to spend you could be knighted by the queen, or have your birthday mentioned in the middle of the show.
Overall, we really enjoyed Medieval Times. We would definitely go again in the future, but maybe once our youngest has grown up a little so it isn’t as scary!
