Without a doubt, the last few months have been hard for a lot of families. With quarantines happening and lockdowns occurring in many states, many families are forced to be together 24/7 causing stress. If you’re wondering how to make it through rough times, I want to share some tips with you.
Call a Friend
One of the best things that you can do to help you make it through a hard time is to call a friend. When you’re able to call a friend, you have someone to vent to. Having someone to vent to can really help you make it through many hard times!
Start a Journal
I think one of the most important ways you can make it through rough times is by starting a journal. Journaling is an excellent way to get those feelings out that you have! Making it through rough times is easier when you have a way to release those feelings.
Talk it Out
If your family is having a rough time, one of the ways in which you can make it through this hard time is to talk it out. When you spend time talking it out with your family, you get all of those emotions out. It’s amazing how many emotions can come from one family! Don’t be afraid to talk it out and get things off your chest.
There are talking it out exercises that you can find online and do with your family. One game is 20 questions. This is where one person just starts asking the other person questions. You may just get a fun laugh at some of the questions that are asked. You can also do ice breakers. Usually, you have to break down that barrier before you can start talking about the really important stuff.
Spend Time Together
Another way to make it through rough times together is to spend time together. When you spend time together as a family, a lot of stress just melts away. Find things that your whole family enjoys doing together. You may find out that there are a few extra activities your family enjoys doing together too.
Group Counseling
Finally, one of my favorite ways to make it through rough times is group counseling. You can even click here to see some of the benefits of group counseling and why it may be a great option for you. Group counseling has many benefits, it may be time to give it a try!
