With obesity levels reaching record highs in British adults and children, experts are frantically searching for the reason behind this modern-day phenomenon. Most recently, they appear to be pointing the finger at carbohydrates and sugar rather than typically fatty foods, which are usually associated with diseases such as obesity, heart ailments and high cholesterol. Whether this research holds true has yet to be seen, as there are many informed opinions that remain diametrically opposed on the subject of what has triggered the rise in obesity throughout the UK.

Creating a Healthy Diet for your Infant Child

According to one such expert, the demonization of foods that are high in saturated fat has led consumers a merry dance over the course of six decades. Cardiovascular research scientist Dr. James DiNicolabtonio has instead claimed that sugary food items and products that are high in carbohydrates (such as bread and pasta) pose the real threat to long-term health and are most likely to trigger heart disease. If his findings are verified it may well lead to a change in the recommendations of the government in relation to healthy eating, which in turn will have a huge impact on parents and families throughout the world.

If you are a parent, however, this latest revelation should have little influence when it comes to creating a diet for your infant child, toddler or newborn baby. This is because foods that are high in saturated fat and carbohydrates are both unsuitable for young children, meaning that you are better served by investing in organic baby food that relies on naturally sourced and local ingredients. The benefits of incorporating these food items into your child’s diet are innumerable, and go far beyond laying the foundations for healthy eating habits and long-term good health.

In addition to this, organic items that are natural also help young children to avoid triggering any potential allergies or dietary intolerances that they may have. Many youngsters grow up experiencing stomach aches, bloating or discomfort when they are placed on a standard diet, usually because they have a hidden intolerance to a fundamental food staple such as dairy or gluten.
