Christmas at Dolly Parton’s Stampede

December 30, 2014 By Stefanie

Christmas-Dixie-Stampede

If you’ve been reading my blog for any number of months you know that my family is a HUGE fan of Branson, and especially Dolly Parton’s Stampede. While there are a lot of fun shows to see in Branson, and several great dinner shows, this one if the best in our opinion. It is family friendly and does a great job of entertaining everyone for the full hour and a half it runs.

You can read about our full experience to the “normal” Dolly Parton’s Stampede show and then keep reading on to see the changes they make at Christmas time! One thing you’ll learn in my first post that holds true year round is that you’ll be eating with your hands! Get ready for a delicious (and very generous) 4 coarse meal. It is so, so yummy, my mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Christmas at Dolly Parton’s Stampede means you are in for some really special treats. First, the building that houses Dixie Stampede is beautiful, but add lights and wreaths and it becomes magical. It is so beautiful to drive on the highway out front and come over the hill to see the beautiful building that looks like a gorgeous southern plantation.

Most of the Dolly Parton’s Stampede show during Christmas is the normal show and activities you will find throughout the year, but there are a couple special changes. Toys come to life in this magical show. With a flying fairy and your favorite childhood toys, it was really exciting for my children.

Also, Dixie Stampede has a beautiful living nativity. I’m a huge fan of companies that are willing to mention Christmas and talk about the real reason we celebrate. I loved that scripture is quoted while the first Christmas scene is played out right in front of you, including camels and a flying heavenly angel. It is so gorgeous and beautifully done. I was crying during the whole thing. I could feel the spirit of the message and it touched my soul.

Branson is one of the few places left that is still very conservative and celebrates the real reason for the season. I definitely recommended making a December visit to Branson to experience Christmas time at Dolly Parton’s Stampede. While your there, there are tons of holiday shows and an Old Time Christmas at Silver Dollar City is also not to be missed!

We have never been to Branson (I wish, because my BFF lives there!) but we went to the Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge. I really want to attend the Christmas show.
