Homemade Bingo Cards
Over the next several posts I will be showing you the different games I made for my daughter's birthday party. We decided to have a Halloween carnival since her birthday falls a few days before Halloween. Our first game was going to be BINGO. I want to print my own BINGO cards and have a big group game to start the party off. After the game of BINGO we would then separate into different activities. The first group would start on the caramel apples while everyone else played the different … [Read more...]
Back-to-School Fiesta!
So last week, we had a party for the kids at our church. It was a Fiesta to celebrate the new school year and we had so much fun! My girls and I went into the the church gym the day before to get all the tables and chairs set up and then get it all decorated. It took 4 hours, but it looked so fun!!I purchased the tables covers, games, pinatas, bulk candy, and everything for our goody bags (bags, bookmarks, pencils, erasers, stickers) from Oriental Trading Company. I love them! They shipped … [Read more...]
We love July 4th!
I hope your Independence Day was as AWESOME as ours! We had a pretty big gathering with my Mom and Dad, 11 Kids and 21 Grandkids, along with a couple of family friends. We started off the morning by attending our church's annual flag raising ceremony by our local boy scouts (very patriotic) and pancake breakfast. From there, we went to the zoo! Woot! This has become somewhat of a tradition over the last 7 years. By the time we left, we were all hot, sweaty (it was only 103F that day…) and … [Read more...]

Getting Older
Yesterday was my (ahem) 30th birthday! Although I told everyone it was my 29th... again! I am not handling being in my 30's well. I feel as though I have left my youth behind and now I'm destined to be OLD! Johanna on the other hand feels that now that she is 30 (well in 2 months she will be) she will be taken seriously! She doesn't realize she is just going to be old! :) How have you handled getting older? Any tips for accepting being 29 plus 1? I'd appreciate it! … [Read more...]
Baby Shower!

This is the first baby for her and her husband and they are living far away from family, so we wanted to make sure that it was wonderful.Rose U set up her spacious back yard for the occasion and the weather was very obliging! Rose O brought her girls and between the 2 Roses and their girls, they did the decorations and the food. Their refreshments were fantastic! The Roses and their girls made a beautiful fruit … [Read more...]
Spring Into Action
Spring is finally here and as I woke up this morning to bright sunshine, I breathed a sigh of relief and started getting excited about doing more activities outside and the fact summer is just round the corner. As Easter is nearly upon us, I wanted to share a great project I came up with that you could do with the children during Easter.Hold an Easter tea-partyIt may sound a little girly, but I can assure you it is a great way to get your children (whether you have boys or girls or both) … [Read more...]
Tissue Pom Tutorial
Ok here is my tissue pom pom tutorial. I am not expert, but as I said in my Cocoa Party post, I did make 30 so I knew a little something about them!1. Start with a flat rectangular piece of tissue paper. In my opinion the best tissue pom poms come out of 13 sheets of tissue paper. Less than that and they aren't very fluffy, more than that and it is VERY hard to cut the scalloped edge, plus it gets way fluffy very fast and it is hard to make it even. 2. Accordion fold the entire … [Read more...]
Cocoa Party
Since I just moved to Kansas City what better way to get to know people than by hosting a party, right?!Of course! So together with a friend that moved here 3 days before we did, we decided to invite the ladies from church over for a Cocoa Party girls night out. We came up with colors (pink, brown and white) and planned the decorations and the menu.We decided to make tissue pom poms, have a wall of streamers and involve balloons somehow. We also got some cute candies in pink wrappers, … [Read more...]
