Break Pal.com is my new break time go to! You can up load it on your computer, or they even have a free iphone app! Yay! Liz will walk you through different exercises and stretches that you can do right from your desk. It gives me a little pick-me-up if I’ve been sitting for a while, but not enough to make me sweat off my make-up!
She talks about the different benefits of her app; avoiding repetitive task injuries, lower back pain and “secretarial spread” (or as I like to call it, pillow butt) but for me, it’s mostly just about keep my muscles moving a bit and getting that zing from some real movement when I’ve been at my computer for a while.
They are only a couple of minutes each, so they don’t take up all of your time. My favorite is the cat stretch followed by the pull stretch. Combined, they take less than five minutes! If you work at a desk, or even if you find yourself folding laundry, or other tasks that keep most of your body still for a while, this is a really great way to keep from feeling so tired and to keep your energy up.
