5 Ways to Help your Baby’s Brain Development

March 11, 2018 By Stefanie

As a Mom I want to do whatever I can to help my children grow up healthy and happy. This doesn’t magically just happen, you have to take purposeful steps to help your kids grow up healthy and happy. I’m again starting the beginning stages with my baby and so here are 5 ways I’m helping my baby’s brain develop.

Healthy Foods

When it’s time for baby’s first foods you should choose food that is healthy. Baby’s first foods are really exciting! This Gerber cereal is awesome. Just two servings of Gerber infant cereal meets 90% of your baby’s daily iron needs. This cereal also features DHA which helps support brain and eye development. Also, this single grain cereal is an ideal way to also check for food sensitivities. Learn more about the Gerber Single Grain cereal here.

Talk With Your Baby

Baby’s coo and make darling little sounds. They are doing their best to communicate. Take your turn talking about. Tell your baby about your day, the weather, sing songs, say whatever you are comfortable saying but then take time to listen. Give your baby a turn to talk back. Speaking in “parentese,” a high pitched voice, will help your baby start to understand speech.

Be Silly, Play Games

Hand games are so much for for babies. Pat-a-cake, peekaboo, the Itsy Bitsy Spider are all really fun ways to use words and actions and interact with baby. Playing is learning for a baby so each of these things help baby learn more about their body, speech and their environment.

Read Books

I think it’s pretty obvious  why reading is beneficial for baby’s brain development. Reading helps your little one learn about speech and feel a sense of comfort and love from spending quality time with a parent. Pick pictures with big, bright pictures. Point out all of the items in the book. Read the words. Your baby will start to recognize word patterns and help with her brain development.

Appropriate Toys

There are some really fun and really amazing toys out there. Choose toys that are developmentally appropriate for your baby. Often times baby toys can teach education things like colors, numbers, and shapes. Stacking blocks can help a baby develop fine motor skills. Knocking down that tower shows a cause/effect relationship. Choose toys that are fun to explore and interact with. Play is the work of babies.

From healthy food like Gerber cereal to exploring books and toys with small, easy and attentive steps, you can help your baby’s brain develop. Also, right now you can get a coupon for this and other baby Gerber baby food.
