5 Reasons Therapy is a Good Thing

May 13, 2020 By Stefanie

Never let someone else determine your stance on therapy. I want to tell you some reasons why therapy is a good thing. It’s amazing what the human body and mind can endure, but that doesn’t mean you can’t heal from what you’ve been through. Therapy is just simply the act of sitting down and talking to someone about what is happening or has happened in your life. I am going to share some reasons why therapy is a good thing.

#1. Therapy Helps You Process

Let’s be honest, one of the best things about therapy is that it helps you to process what has happened to you or what may happen to you. Whether you’re going through marriage counseling or you’re going through therapy to help heal from a past relationship, therapy can help you heal.

#2. Therapy Gives You Someone to Talk To

Whether you’re in a relationship or not, therapy gives you someone to talk to. Even relationships can be lonely because sometimes your partner doesn’t slow down to listen to you. ReGain.us is actually a great resource for those of you who’d like to talk to someone. Therapy with the right therapist actually has the power to help you save your relationship if that’s what you want.

#3. Therapy Helps Us Figure Ourselves Out

When you’re sitting there with your own thoughts and your own brain, some things just don’t make sense. This is why therapy is such a good thing. You have someone to walk you through those thoughts. The brain is a tricky thing, but your own thoughts are even tricker. Therapy helps you figure yourself out. Knowing who you are is never a bad thing.

#4. Therapy is a Great Tool to Use

Sometimes you’ve tried every other resource out there and you’re not sure where to turn. Well, the truth is that therapy is a really good tool to use. If you’ve tried everything else and you really want results in your life or relationship, then why not try therapy? You can even do therapy online, so it’s not even like you have to leave your house is you don’t want to.

#5. Therapy Isn’t Forever

I know some people want to avoid therapy because they think it’ll take up their time, energy, and efforts. This isn’t true! Therapy doesn’t have to be forever and it’s not going to be something you have to do every week for the rest of your life unless you want to. As you look for a therapist, just know this season of life isn’t forever.

These are just 5 reasons why therapy is a good thing. I’d love to hear your reasoning on why you think therapy is a good thing.
