5-Affordable-Disney-World-Hotels
Families on a budget spend months planning out their family vacation to Disney World and it takes just as long to budget for it. It takes some work to find all the best deals, affordable options that work for your family, and hotels that are great places to stay. When it comes to your Disney vacation, the hotel and tickets are the most expensive items, but you can save money when it comes to the hotel that you choose. Sometimes this might mean making do without a few amenities, staying off property, or getting creative about your accommodations.

Check out these 5 incredibly affordable Disney World area hotel options that you can book.

Camp Out at Fort Wilderness

Disney’s Fort Wilderness is a fun and unique option for the parks that will help you save a bunch of cash. It is important to book this option well in advance because it is super popular with Disney regulars and always books up months in advance. Guests can tent camp, haul in popup campers or drive in an RV that can be hooked up. The campgrounds are like no other campgrounds you’ve ever stayed at, and there is onsite dining and entertainment that make Fort Wilderness a pretty neat place to stay even if time at the parks wasn’t an option. There are some cool features at Disney’s Fort Wilderness you should check out, even if you don’t end up staying there.

Choose a Rental Property

There are so many vacation homes around the Walt Disney World area because so many people find that it is a great place to spend a portion of their year. These vacation homes work as rental properties for the other times of the year and really are a bargain to rent out by the week. For just $200-$500 you can have a space with multiple rooms, a kitchen, and sometimes even a pool. It all depends on what your family is looking for and how much back and forth to the parks you are okay with doing, but going this route can provide you with considerable savings.

Opt for Off-Site Hotels

Just about every hotel chain has a property within a mile or two of Walt Disney World, and while Disney has thousands of rooms available, and these hotels provide thousands of rooms, the most affordable options are always booked up. Planning is crucial if you want to stay in a hotel, but off the Disney properties. The best options offer mini kitchenettes, pools, and free shuttles to the parks and the airport. Be sure to pay attention to how far they are from the resorts, and what extras you’ll get or need to provide for on your own.

Book a Disney Value Hotel

Disney World has value hotel properties that are reasonably priced, especially when you compare them to the moderate and luxury options at the parks. It can be harder to fit a large family into one hotel room, but with rollaways and cooperation from the family it can be done. Plan ahead for the tight stay and make sure everything is well organized in order to minimize the amount of time you spend getting everyone up and out in the mornings.

Short Term Room Rental

The consumer sharing market is huge right now, and more and more people are realizing that they can trust folks in their homes, while travelers are finding they can be safe and have a really neat experience. Sites like Airbnb allow you to book a room with a local, some properties have entire in-law arrangement accommodations, and have as little or as much interaction as you are open to. This can be a great way for your family to have a home away from home experience while benefiting from the local knowledge of your host.

I love to utilize vacation homes when we travel. Hotels have a place & time, but we generally go for a whole house 🙂

I love staying in a home instead of a house because of the privacy and with three kids, there is room to stretch out.
