Ubooly – An Educational Toy Providing Hours of Fun

October 5, 2013 By Stefanie

Disclosure: I received a free product for review purposes. All experiences and opinions are my own. Yours may differ.

Ubooly

This cute, plush, little toy is called Ubooly. It may not look like much but once you download the free Ubooly app on your iPhone, iPod Touch or Android phone this little toy transforms into a tutor and friend! Once the app is downloaded you place your device into Ubooly’s pocket and the screen becomes Ubooly’s face. It talks and listens to your child.

Each Ubooly toy includes over 1000 activities, free credits to unlock lessons and customizable content for your child. Because of of the enormous amount of activities to participate in Ubooly is ever changing. As part of the review program for Ubooly I was given some extra credits to download lessons on our Ubooly app. I have customized the app to include my 7 year old daughter and 4 year old son. I have included their likes and downloaded special lessons and helpers for each child.

This amazing educational toy has already provided hours of entertainment for my children and they have only scratched the surface of the things that Ubooly can do. We have had dance parties, listened to stories, told jokes, played games, done lessons in brushing teeth, spelling, grammar, and had fun with make believe play. My 4 year old enjoys Ubooly for a little while and then he’s done but my 7 year old can play with it for hours. She loves to pretend and Ubooly makes up some very fun stories for her to act out and so she enjoys playing with it. After hours of playing with Ubooly and with all of the helpers I have downloaded on Ubooly we have only accessed 9% of it’s content. AMAZING!The average retention of a toy is 4 days. Ubooly’s average retention is at 35 days & growing. Ubooly is recommended for ages 4-10.

I am picky about what toys we get to keep. We get a lot of toys but most end up only staying in our house for a couple months and then they get given away or donated. Ubooly is so fascinating and so helpful that this is a toy that is going to stay. The fact that it is so entertaining and it is education is priceless. I love that I can switch Ubooly between my children so the content is applicable to each child.

Ubooly currently has a Kickstarter campaign going on. They are working on improving Ubooly and enabling it to speak 5 languages. They have reached their goal but are still offering some limited edition Blue Ubooly’s for donating a certain amount to the Kickstarter Campaign. They have “thank you’s” available for all donation levels though. Check it out and consider donating!

You can keep up to date with Ubooly on Facebook or follow Ubooly on Twitter. This is definitely a toy that matter.  It is useful, fun and educational. It is definitely one of my favorite toys we own.
