The Adventurer’s Guide to the Mitsubishi Outlander

August 19, 2015 By Stefanie

Thanks to Mitsubishi for providing the brand new 2016 Outlander for my family to use while on vacation in Oregon. All opinions are my own.

Oregon definitely has an outdoor adventuring vibe to it, so I felt we fit right in driving the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander while we were there.

After spending a week with this car, my husband and I both felt like this was the perfect car for a solo adventurer or a couple seeking a thrill. Let me tell you all about the fantastic features that this car has to get your adventure kicked off just right.

1. Haul it all in the back of the Outlander. Though this car has 3 rows of seats (I get to that in a minute) you can put down the back two rows and haul some stuff. I’m talking about pack all your camping gear, through in your winter gear and any other stuff your going to need because this crossover is bringing it with you!

2. Let’s talk about the 3rd row of seats. You can fit 7 people in the Mitsubishi Outlander – rather, there are 7 seat belts. We found that having 3 children, with two of them in car seats, we needed to utilize the 3rd row of seating but that cut into our trunk space. So haul your friends or haul you gear but it’s hard to haul both!

3. Take your adventure farther with the awesome fuel efficiency in this car! When we filled up the car I noted the range – 380 miles! That was awesome. We got the car full of gas and only filled it up once. We drove over 600 miles during the week. Talk about money saver.

4. Welcome the outdoors in with the awesome sun roof. The weather in Oregon was so perfect. There was a crisp in the air which I loved and so we were very happy to have the sun roof open and enjoy the breeze. Plus, being the beach of course we wanted that fresh sea air blow through out hair!

5. Feeling safe while on the go with the amazing safety technology in this car. Lane departure warnings, adaptive cruise control and forward collision mitigation helped me feel confident about my family’s safety while we were driving it. There were times when we were really grateful that the car let us know about a quick stopping vehicle in front of us.

Just like the Kia Sedona I previously wrote about, this car also let us know if you were deviating from the lane without a blinker. It also let you set how far you wanted to stay from the car in front of you with the adaptive cruise control and automatically took care of that.

6. Want to go on an adventure during winter? Go ahead and do it. The Mitsubishi Outlander will keep your bum toasty while you drive with the heated seats.

7. It’s affordable! Coming in at a lower MSRP than last years model but with more bells and whistles! This is a great buy for your adventuring self.

Our Oregon adventure in the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander was so much fun. In fact, adventuring might just be better in a Mitsubishi!

Where will your next adventure take you?
