Tax Time

February 8, 2012 By Stefanie

“It’s that time of year, when the world falls in love…” Oh wait, that’s a different time of year! It’s the time of year for stress and figuring out taxes. For me, personally, this is one of my favorite times of year. I started doing our taxes when I got married and became an independent. That first year my Dad, who was an accountant in a former life, helped me figure it out and got me all set up with TurboTax. Ever since then I have LOVED tax time, no I’m not being sarcastic, I mean it! As it is now February you have two months left to get your taxes finished and filed and there is no better way than turbo tax! I have been using turbo tax for 9 years and LOVE it.

There are many reasons I love TurboTax. With TurboTax you’ll get 100% accurate calculations and step-by-step guidance so you are confident your taxes are done right. They have a sidebar full of popular questions asked by other users, which 9 times out of 10 is answers any questions you might have. They also have a search bar so you can search your question if you can’t find it immediately in the side bar. They also GUARANTEE that you are getting your MAXIMUM refund. When you are finished entering all your data it checks and double checks for errors making sure there aren’t any. It then assesses your risk for an audit and informs you what items you have on your taxes that might send red flags to the IRS (not that you can do anything about it, I usually have a couple of red flag items, but a LOW audit risk) TurboTax also offers audit help should the IRS decide to audit you in the future. Using TurboTax online I am able to file electronically so my returns are immediately available to the Feds and State government. I also set up my TurboTax with electronic deposit so you Get your refund in as little as 7 days. I filed on Saturday so I expect to have my refund in a few days!

Have I mentioned how easy it is? This year my taxes were a little more complicated than they have ever been. My husband worked in two states, we were residents of one state while working in another, we sold a home (with a loss) and bought a home and had moving expenses. It took a lot more calculations this year than ever before, but because TurboTax is so good at helping you figure out what each question means, I was able to get it done in about a week. I also feel completely secure knowing that all was done correct and our refund is accurate. If you haven’t ever done your taxes yourself, this is the year to sign up with TurboTax and get it done right and easy!! Definitely try it! Also, you canĀ  Do your taxes for FREE with TurboTax Online Federal Free Edition. Start Now. We don’t qualify for the free version, but doing it online I did get a discount on the price which was nice since I had to buy two state returns also. I love it, and you will love too!!

is it possible to declare my blog as a business for tax purposes?
a site called taxkilla.com is offering instructions on how to use my blog as a way to lower my taxes.
