I like to make dessert for my family at least once a week. I think it’s fun to have a special treat with the family. The kids get excited and we gather around the table together to eat our treat and talk. Sometimes I’m not in a baking mood, so I try to find quick and easy dessert ideas. When I saw the Quaker® Real Medleys® Yogurt Cups an idea struck.

If you remember a line from Shrek, Donkey tells Shrek “You know what else everybody likes? Parfaits!” If it’s in a movie it must be true. With that quote ringing in my ears I gathered ingredients to create a Strawberry Granola Dessert Parfait. I typically think of a parfait as being a breakfast food, but with a little sweet ingredients, it can be a tasty dessert too.

This dessert is super simple because the Quaker Real Medley’s Yogurt Cups are the star of the show. How do you make them? Just add cold milk to the line indicated in the cup, stir and in 2 minutes it’s ready. You can’t get simpler than that. Plus it’s fun because it also has multigrain granola, almond slices and real strawberry bites inside – Crunchy. Cool. Yum. Then gather the other ingredients and it’s simply layering from there.

Prepare the Quaker Real Medley’s as directed.

The Quaker Real Medley’s Yogurt Cups come in Strawberry & Almond, Apple Cinnamon and Raspberry Pecan flavors but I went with Strawberry since it was a family favorite. They can be found at Walmart on the cold cereal aisle. There’s been nothing like this before. It’s the first shelf stable medley of granola, fruit and yogurt. This is a wonderful product to add to your food storage shelves.

I loved preparing this quick, easy yet beautiful layered parfait for my family. It got lots of “oooohhs and aaaaaahhs” as I brought them to the table. Of course, you can skip the extras and just enjoy the Strawberry & Yogurt Quaker Real Medley’s Yogurt Cup by itself.
