My husband and I are always looking for ways to make cleaning up more fun. We have tried to make it a race (not a great idea, because then someone loses and there are tears), singing songs and playing games. I find that when my husband and I help our kids clean up and take out the trash that it goes faster, there is less whining and we are having fun as a family. Our trash day is Wednesday, so Tuesday nights we make a game of gathering all the trash and recycling together and then we take it out to the different garbage cans. The children now look forward to this weekly activity and ask when it is time to start taking out the trash.

Those cheerleaders definitely know how to make cleaning up a good time! My kids loved watching this video and then trying to reenact it! They each grabbed some trash and used it like a basketball, shooting it towards the trash can. Having fun while cleaning is definitely encouraged at our house!
