I don’t often think about where my food comes from. Of course I know that each different meat comes from that specific animal and I know plants come from the ground that some farmer has worked and milk comes from cows, but I really don’t think about it in detail. Last week this thought occurred to my husband and I and we asked out 4 year old son “where does milk come from?” his response? “The store.” Parent fail! So we then explained that cows live on farms and make milk. The farmer milks the cows and after is goes through some processing in a factory it ends up in the store.
Silk has taken this explanation a little farther. Silk is a brand that makes Soy, coconut and almond milk products. When my baby was young his tummy was sensitive to dairy so I only drank Silk Almond milk for several months. It wasn’t bad. I’m very interested to try Silk Coconut milk because I think that will be slightly sweet. Yum! Silk is all about sustainable living and with that comes conserving water. By drinking Silk‘s milk instead of cow milk, you actually end up saving tons of water. Cow’s milk is diluted with water in the process of it going from farm to store which equals tons of water. Hence Silks most recent campaign #YayWater. Check out this cute commercial to drive the point home:
Aren’t those cows cute? And the way they cute use a little water conservation. Silk is a social company and would like to connect with you on social media. Like Silk on Facebook or follow Silk on Twitter.
