Last week we were fortunate to be able to attend the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus Present Dragons. We have only ever been to the scary little circus that sets up shop in a park in small towns in the middle of no where (we used to live in Kansas, which is basically the middle of no where). This was exciting to be going to “The Greatest Show on Earth!” Though I may not really agree they earned that byline.
The show was very entertaining. It passed the test of keeping my 4 year old entertained, which is how we usually judge things. In this case, even my 7 month old baby was entertained the whole time! The variety of acts was impressive and the show kept moving which was very nice.
The whole show was about proving that one of the actors had the strength, courage, bravery and heart of a dragon. Once he proved himself he was able to bring out the dragon. Some of my favorite acts were the elephants. I love elephants. That is my favorite part of the zoo. Check out this little video I made of them.
I also was VERY impressed with the motorcycles. They brought out one motorcycle and had someone ride it around this metal ball cage. It was pretty neat. Then three other motorcycles joined the one and all four of them were in the cage. They then kept adding a motorcycle until there were eight, yes EIGHT in the ball cage driving in a circle. Check out this video of all eight in the cage.
The clowns were also very funny and have several “acts” in between the main show to keep the audience entertained. The level of skills with the performers was fantastic. There were acrobats, trapeze artists, Kung Fu Masters, a lion tamer and more. This show had a little bit of everything and something for everyone. We had such a great time and would recommend checking out the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus next time it comes to your town.
