I’ve mentioned many times before on my blog that when I was growing up I was only allowed to watch Disney movies on Sunday’s. We had a pretty impressive VHS collection of all the animated Disney movies and so rotating through was easy. Because of this rule in my home I had more Disney movies memorized. Aladdin was no different.
When I was younger (and still mostly now) I could quote the entire movie while I was watching it. My favorite part? When Iago copies Jafar saying “Problem with your daughter.” I always thought it was so funny!
I also really loved how colorful the movie was. I just thought it was a beautiful film with so much going on and so much to see. My favorite song is “Prince Ali” because of the parade with all of his stuff going down the road to meet Princess Jasmine. There was so much to see, I thought it was incredible.
Aladdin was one of my favorites because it is such a funny film. Robin Williams is pretty amazing and made Genie larger than life. I love that character and all the clever jokes he made throughout the entire film. When I was younger I didn’t understand them all but now as an adult I get them and it’s hilarious!
I love the message of the movie, which is, in my opinion, to be yourself. Success comes when we be true to ourselves. In a world full of peer pressure I can really appreciate any movie that helps my kids see they should be themselves no matter what.
The Aladdin Diamond Edition is coming out of the vault with new, amazing bonus features. You can get Aladdin on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere NOW. If you want the Blu-ray combo pack it’ll be available October 13.
