Old World Gourmet Review

This past week I received a Blueberry Pomegranate Vino Freeze Mix from Old World Gourmet to review. Since we do not drink alcohol, we decided to turn ours into a slushie! After reading the directions and finding out  we needed to include 1.5 liters of liquid we thought that would be too much water so we got a bottle of sparkling grape juice to use in place of the wine. We followed the directions exactly on the box and it worked out  perfectly.

We poured the Blueberry Pomegranate powder into a gallon bag, added 1- 750 ml bottle of sparkling grape juice, added 1- 750 ml bottle of water and then mixed it up. We stuck it in the freezer for 4 hours. Once we pulled it out it was the perfect consistency.  We put it in the pitcher and had to spoon it into cups. There was some juice at the bottom so we poured that over the slushie.

It tasted pretty good. There was some kick from the sparkling grape juice. We all agreed it was VERY sweet so we could only have a little bit, but I don’t know if that was from the grape juice or the mix.  The mix does have 26 grams of sugar, so it definitely contributed to the sweet.

The box came with 2 packets of Blueberry Pomegranate mix so I was thinking it would be fun to turn the second one into jello. If I can figure that out I will report back with that!
