My love of jewelry seems to come and go in phases. Sometimes I’m obsessed, sometimes I really don’t care. Sometimes I love rings, other times I love watches. I’m glad to have these phases because it has enabled me to grow a nice collection of different colors and styles of jewelry for me to enjoy. Whenever I am on vacation I always choose a souvenir of jewelry. Instead of getting something that will just sit somewhere and gather dust or something cheese like a magnet, I get jewelry. It is useful and will jog fun memories whenever you wear it.
The holidays are coming and soon you are going to start thinking of gifts to give. If you are thinking of giving jewelry here is my input on the matter. These are the top 5 pieces of jewelry I would love to accept as a gift.
Rings
I LOVE rings. I have a TON of rings. My rings started out small and pretty. I had a couple friends who loved to wear big, bold and beautiful rings. I was hesitant at first to wear those types of rings but eventually grew to love them and I now have my own collect of huge rings! The bigger the better! I do have one ring that deserves a caution sign because it could be lethal! 🙂
The great thing about rings is that they are adjustable. If you are buying a fashion ring for a friend or loved one, most of them these days have these neat stretchy bands. You don’t need to worry about sizes because they will adjust themselves. If you are buying an expensive ring for a loved one, these are also adjustable, though it will require more effort and a jeweler.
Watches
I’ve never been a watch person but I think with the right watch I could become one. My perfect watch would be feminine and classy. I wouldn’t mind a little sparkle on it as well. It is definitely possible to buy beautiful watches on a budget. Right now since I don’t have a preferred watch when I am out and about and want to know the time I pull out my phone. That is a dangerous thing because then I probably will want to check my email and perhaps venture over to facebook. There are times when it would be nice to be disconnected, but still know the time. I know what I’m asking for for Christmas!
Bracelets
Bracelets are like necklaces for your wrists. The same styles apply. I haven’t really jumped on the bracelet band wagon. I have a few that I have gotten over the years and couple that were given to me. For some reason most bracelets bother me unless they have a sentimental purpose. My parents just gave me a special bracelet from Hawaii that I LOVE. It doesn’t bother me to wear that bracelet at all but some of my others do.
Necklaces
I love necklaces because I think these are the most versatile! There are huge, chunky necklaces or small dainty necklaces. Perhaps you like huge beads, or just a small silver strand. I have all sorts of styles of necklaces in all different colors. It is fun to mix and match them. Chunky and thin, different colors and styles. Necklaces are a great way to set the tone for your outfit. When I head to church I wear something smaller and dainty. When I’m going out with the girls I break out the big beads or bright colors. Outfits are more fun with a great necklace.
Broach
This may seem old fashioned, and I would have gone along with that thought about a year ago, but my opinion has change. I recently bought a cute blouse that had a rhinestone broach attached to it. I think it is so darling and classy. Also a lot of people have started adding flower pins to a blazer or a blouse to spruce it up. I have a lot of cute flower clips I have made for my daughter that I am considering turning into broaches for some of my outfits!
I’m sure whatever the occasion and whatever the piece of jewelry you choose, your friend or loved one will love it. The thought and sentiment behind the gift means more than the actual gift anyways. Are you planning on giving the gift of jewelry this upcoming gift giving season?
