Occasionally I work with Verizon to review their new products. Right before I left on the Tuckaway Shores Resort press trip I was offered to review the Sony Xperia Z3v phone to review. Since I had learned it was waterproof, I thought it would be an awesome travel companion to the beach!
Here are my favorite features from using the phone for 2 months:
- Call quality is fantastic. Verizon has excellent service and so it has worked perfectly wherever I have been in my travels.
- Waterproof! Like I mentioned earlier, the main reason I wanted to try the phone is because it is waterproof. I find this quality as a traveler, and as a Mom very important!
- Slim yet large. The phone is very sleek and slim. Yet the screen is massive. I like the size, though it wouldn’t fit in any pocket of my pants, this is a purse carry phone for sure.
- Hotspot! I love this phone’s hotspot. My kids used it in the car on a long road trip. The signal reached to the back of our minivan so all were able to enjoy the data!
- The camera is amazing. I used this phone as my main camera for my Florida press trip and I LOVED my pictures. Especially the beautiful pictures of the Florida skies I was able to capture.
- On that same note, the camera is so easy to use with an external button you press and hold and it will bring up the camera no matter what mode the phone is in. It is nice to get it up quickly and be able to start capturing the memories. You can also take video and customize it for slow motion play and face in! It’s pretty awesome!
- Battery life rocks! The battery lasts for up to 26 hours in use and has a crazy long standby time. I LOVE that the phone always had juice, especially with the insane amount of pictures and use it was getting on my trip. It was very reliable and I love that!
The only con I experienced while I had the phone was that I like to multitask. I using hold my phone between my head and shoulder so I can continue to type or do whatever it is I’m doing. This phone, although the screen would go dark when you do this and so I assumed I wouldn’t be able to press buttons or disconnect, actually did that. Several phone calls got hung up or other buttons pressed while talking because the screen didn’t become inactive just because it was dark. The solution would be to use speaker phone or jump on bluetooth.
The Sony Xperia Z3v would make an excellent phone for your next upgrade or gift this holiday season. I love this phone.
