This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Allstate. All opinions are 100% mine.
A couple years ago my husband got a new job. We were really excited about it and all the new that would come with it. The job meant we had to move to a new state and start over with friends and be completely away from anything familiar. As part of the process we needed to sell our home. We thought it wouldn’t take long and we would soon be off on this new adventure. Weeks turned to months and our home didn’t sell. My husband had to leave to start his new job and we decided that the kids and I would stay with the house until it sold. My husband came home every weekend, but the whole ordeal was still a huge trial for us and very hard for me. Eventually, 11 months later, we finally sold our house. We ended up owing the bank money when it was all said and done, but at that point we didn’t care. As long as we were able to become a family under the same roof again, that is all that mattered! That huge trial led to amazing things!
We now live in a beautiful home, with wonderful friends, in an area we love. So much good is all around us. I know that in the world today there are scary and bad things happening, but out of all the bad, the good triumphs! In natural disasters we as Americans rally around each other and rebuild, and boost each other. When we have human tragedy, we again step in and help. There is always an outpouring of love and support. In the end good always wins!
Allstate is also celebrating the good in life with the Allstate Good Life campaign “Good hands for the good life”. It is true that there may be danger or potential for harm in everyday life, but we are still going to live it! We have to know the bad to appreciate the good! We have to have tasted sour, to enjoy the sweet. Just like the popular saying “When life hands you lemons, made lemonade.” There is good to be found everywhere.
I would love to hear your moments of triumph. When did you kick fear in the face and decide to live life? What trials have you endured to find happiness and greatness on the other side? Please share your stories with me!

What an inspirational story, and a testament to the love of a family!! We have, and still are, going through some extremely trying times with two of our adult children (no matter how old, they are still our children). We have discovered the love and support of friends and family, which have made this so much more bearable. I am so happy to be living near to our family and friends, I don’t know how we would get through this without them.

My story is not through yet. In 2010 I was in a terrible roll-over car accident. I should have died. So I guess that I am here for some unknown reason, I have to believe that I have unfinished work left to do.

We live as good of a life as we can. Both my husband and I are disabled and are not able to work. We are still young Hubby is 36 and I am 34. We have a beautiful and smart 16 yr old daughter who is graduating 2 years early. I have homeschooled her most of her life. We have been very blessed so I could stay home and homeschool her and my hubby worked till he could no longer work. We just found out my hubby and daughter have a genetic disorder (EDS) which causes horrendous pain throughout their bodies. We have applied for disability for my hubby, once he is approved I will work on mine I can only handle one thing at a time right now,but he has been denied 4 times due to his age. Even though we have so much going against us we are a strong family! We know we will make it through anything as long as we are doing it together. Due to our financial crisis we are lucky enough to be able to live with my husbands parents. We have to be on welfare right now to get by but as soon as we can we will stop that. We have learned that life is way too short to dwell on the negative in what ever situation you are in! We are so thankful for the things and people we do have in our life that keep us moving forward instead of getting depressed due to our situation! Remember there is always someone who has it worse then you do!

I had a tragic death of a loved one, and at the time I felt that my whole world was over! I could not stop crying for months. It was the grief that overcomes a person, but today I believe that this has made me a stronger person and I have helped other people deal with grief over losing a loved one, and that there is hope and happiness that a person can have after having experienced a tragedy!
Tracy says
I had a tragedy happen right before I got married. My husband and his family helped me tremendously to get through it and to become a stronger person in spite of it. We were married 21 years ago this month.

When I was living in the 90’s to Early 2000 My grandmother used to watch me and she would tell me one day I am going to die, and your going to miss me. I said sure. When her funeral came in 2010 I was very saddened because the week I had stayed in contact with her,she knew her time was through on this Earth and she knew where she was going. To this day I still miss her spirit, her wise tales and Wise anctics. To her late days her mind was still as crisp as when she had left. Her Heart stopped beating and so did her life but she still lives on in my heart she died of 101years.

I took a big chance last summer when I made the decision to leave New England and my friends and some family to move to the Deep south with my daughter and 2 grandsons. I was born in the south and I feel at home here again. I miss my friends, family and way of life up north, but a change is what this Grammy needed! And the weather is awesome!

Jessica Compton says
Almost 2 years ago, I packed up myself and my son and moved away from our friends, family, and where I had been almost my entire life. The air there sucked, and my son could rarely even go outside because it would cause his asthma to act up like crazy. People were rude, there was tons of violence everwhere you turned, the schools sucked, politics sucked… I didn’t want him being raised there. So, we moved cross country, just the 2 of us and are happy as 2 peas in a pod!
Marietta H says
Life was really good to us in 2012. We purchased our retirement home and have a new “miracle” Granddaughter that was able to spend Holidays with us in the mountains.

my good life story, is I am a mother of 4 awesome kiddos and married to a wonderful man, but 10 years ago I had a Gastric bypass, I lost 165 lbs in less then 10 months. although I though I was on top of the world, my body thought different. it made me extremely ill, my body to this day, 10 years later isn’t healthy I Have to have weekly injections of iron, blood transfusions every so often. it weakened my bones and eventually led to 5 back operations and now on disability. the good part of all that is I’m blessed with a wonderful family that is there for me through everything and I Love them more then they could ever know.
Gail Williams says
My good life story is filled with pain and sorrow, but also laughter and joy! I’m still married to my husband of 41 years. We have 3 healthy grown daughters and 2 granddaughters with another one on the way. Without faith I would not have endured the losses of a baby sister, father, and 2 brothers…each tragically at different times and different reasons! Yet I had power by virtue of Him who imparted power to me!
Jessica O says
We are going thru rough financial times right now like so many others but it has really made my husband and my marriage even stronger. We have 2 wonderful healthy kids, good health ourselves and couldn’t ask for much more!

They were born 3 months early the girl weighed a little over 2 #’s and boy other a little over 1#. They are a month old and the boys is 2#’s and the girl topped 3# and are doing better every day, what a miracle.

I chose a life changing move to a beautiful tourist town on Lake Superior in Upper Michigan. It was a difficult move as it is very isolated and the winters are nearly unbearable, but I LOVE IT! It is so beautiful living on the Lake Superior Lakeshore with miles of beaches, thousands of acres of the Hiawatha Forest, and amazing waterfalls and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. It is an incredible place and I am blessed! I am living the good life!
