Favorite Characters Leap to Life with LeapFrog

October 3, 2015 By Stefanie

As a LeapFrog Mom Ambassador I received promotional items and educational material to share. All opinions are my own.

Does any other mom out there get excited about learning activities for their kids? I’ve always been a bit of a nerd about learning and education. When I heard about the LeapPad Platinum Tablet I got very excited. I did a little research and got to try it for ourselves as a member of the LeapFrog Mom Squad and here’s what we loved about it.

The screen is a great size which makes learning super easy. You don’t want your kids straining to see the contents on the screen and the LeapPad Platinum Tablet prevents the kids from having to do this. Another great perk of the LeapPad Platinum Tablet that we loved is that it comes with built-in lithium ion rechargeable battery. There is nothing better than having a rechargeable battery when you have a kid that loves to play on their LeapPad! The battery life also lasts around five hours, which is a lot of peace and quiet for mama and a whole lot of learning for the kiddos!

There are also other features like peer to peer play, automatically adjusted skill level, tutorials, and much more with the LeapPad Platinum Tablet.

I think another great feature of the LeapPad Platinum Tablet is the fact that it’s a touch screen. It also has WiFi capabilities, but comes with a Kid-Safe Browser, so your kids can stay super protected. Kids can also access over 1,000 games designed just for LeapPad with their own app store.

My kids’ favorite part of the LeapPad Platinum Tablet (and now all older versions of LeapFrog tablets, as these new games are compatible) are the Imagicards! They love everything about the Imagicards. These cards are interactive and include a game download code for each set of cards.

We received the Paw Patrol, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Letter Factory Adventures Imagicards. Each of these sets of cards has corresponding games. The games include times when you scan the cards and your favorite characters come to life in that game. The cards help you complete games. Don’t worry, though, if your cards get the lost the games can still be played. You can choose electronic cards if your real cards get lost, or if you don’t want to take the cards on your travels. I love that the games are so interactive. My kids (especially my toddler) get so excited when their characters come to life on the screen.

Though the Imagicard games are intended for children ages 3+, my toddler was able to figure out how to play and use the cards with a little help. He really loves playing the Paw Patrol game because those are his favorite characters right now.

My kids have always loved their LeapPads but the LeapPad Platinum Tablet has really challenged their minds in a positive way. Learning is always a great thing, especially when it’s fun.

You can order your own LeapPad Platinum Tablet by heading here. I hope your kids and family enjoy the LeapPad Platinum Tablet as much as we have!

What set of Imagicards would your kids want?

I’ve got the LeapPad Platinum Tablet down to get two of my grands for Christmas this year. I got them a LeapPad previously and they have played with them endlessly. I love that I’ll be helping them learn with my gift and I know their parents will as well.

My brother and sister had an older version of the LeapPad when they were younger (about four years ago) and they absolutely loved it. I really like that this version has a touch screen since most of our new technology has that feature and they’ll need it later in life 🙂 This might be a cool Xmas gift for my niece and nephew!

I love Leap Pads! Both my children have 1 and it especially helped my oldest caught Chloe learn to read when she was just starting up. It’s a little harder to get my son into it, but he still plays with it from time to time. I too get excited when it comes to learning!

My kids grew up on Leap Pad. I am so impressed with how far the technology has come since Leap Pad’s inception. It’s good to know that education can be fun and purposeful.

Leap Frog makes such great products! It’s always nice to find toys that also provide an educational benefit to our children. So many toys these days don’t allow for creative learning and I love that Leap Frog has a wide range of toys that educate and let kids be creative!

I’ve heard amazing thing about LeapFrog products! My daughter is just now getting to be older enough to play with our phones and tablet, so I think something like this will be on her Christmas list this year!

Kids are so keen on technology at a young age. I bet they loved their new learning “toy.” How does it handle getting dropped? Since kids will be hard on toys, is it durable?

      Hi Nicci,

Thanks for your comment! So far it seems to be very sturdy and has stood up to my children. We have 3 LeapPad versions and they all do well with sticky fingers, banging on tables and drops.

Ha! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on Leapfrog? That sounds like a lot of fun. It’s very cool that the company came out with a LeapPad Platinum Tablet. The brand is such a good thing for kids.

Oh to be a kid in todays tech world, I don’t think I would have ever been bored lol. What an educational tool, I think I could have some fun with these tech toys as well lol. I like anything that can make learning fun. I’m a tech trainer in my “real life” and even for adults it’s important to make their learning fun.

We have always been big fans of LeapFrog and I love all of the advances that they have been making. I think my daughter would definitely want the Paw Patrol pack because she just loves all of those pups!
