If you have ever asked a child to do some chores you have probably heard the whining that tends to commence with the request. At our house we use Saturdays as our “chore day”. The kids still have to clean their rooms, do the dishes, help with laundry and other smaller tasks through the week but on Saturday everything must get done. This often results in a lot of groans and whines.
My husband and I try to make this cleaning process fun by putting on some music and making a dance party out of it. While we are in the kitchen doing dishes, sweeping, mopping and cleaning we have music on and we dance while we work. This helps make the task fun, cuts down on whining and is hopefully creating some fun family memories. Here’s a glimpse into how this works at our house:
Dance parties are a regular occurrence at our house. Every evening when it is time for the dinner dishes to be done the music comes on and everyone gathers to dance and help. This week we were able to surprise our kids by taking the dance party downstairs and turning it into a game – Just Dance: Disney Party 2.
We haven’t ever owned a dancing game before so the kids have had a ton of fun learning to play. The game features 20 tracks from the hottest Disney Channel hits, with songs from movies like “Descendants” and “Teen Beach 2” as well as shows like “Girl Meets World” and “Liv and Maddie.” Some of the songs my kids know and some they don’t. Either way they have had a good time. While the game can be played with 2 players, we hand my 2 year old a controller and he thinks he’s playing. It makes them all happy at once!
Game play is easy! With controller in hand you will follow the dance moves of the kid(s) on the screen. These kids are cute and stylish and just like kids you would see on Disney channel shows so it fits seamlessly with the Disney channel characters you know and love. Players will be rewarded with points and words of encouragement as they do the moves correctly. Though the game is a little challenging, my kids still were able to feel successful with their scores. There are different levels of difficulty with different songs so you can definitely progress in the game.
Just Dance: Disney Party 2 is now available on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Nintendo’s Wii and Wii U systems. I love that it is available on Wii since that is our game system. It’s getting harder to find new games on that system but we aren’t ready to upgrade just yet.
Whether looking for a gift for a special occasion or just wanting the latest game, Just Dance: Disney Party 2 is a fun option the whole family will love playing together.
