Easy Pumpkin Decor with Sparkling Ice

November 10, 2020 By Stefanie

This post was sponsored by Sparkling Ice as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.

Halloween might be all wrapped up, but it’s still very much fall and it definitely still calls for cute and easy pumpkin decor for your porch! Some of the trees in my front yard have just started to turn the beautiful fall colors we expect and I was so excited to put together a fun little project where I could use them in decorating my front porch. Follow along with these easy instructions for pumpkin decor made out of cans and bottles.

When I told my oldest daughter I needed help with a craft using Sparkling Ice bottles and cans she was really excited. A lot of her friends take Sparkling Ice to school so she was excited to try it for the first time. She mentioned some flavors she wanted to try so we went out and got a couple different kinds including some yummy flavors like Sparkling Ice Black Raspberry, Sparkling Ice Strawberry Citrus and Sparkling Ice Blue Raspberry. We shopped at Hy-Vee to get all our flavors and learned about the ! The rewards program luanched in March 2020 and when you buy any Sparkling Ice +Caffeine products in Hy-Vee stores you receive points for Sparkling Ice Rewards and have a chance to enter to win a year’s supply of Sparkling Ice. Sounds like a fun deal.

To make our pumpkins we needed Sparkling Ice bottles and Sparkling Ice cans, which happen to be the Sparkling Ice +Caffeine. Sparkling Ice +Caffeine has 6 bright and bold flavors with 70 mg of naturally sourced caffeine, a splash of juice, colors and flavors from natural sources. They also have zero sugar plus vitamins and antioxidants.

Gather these supplies: bottles, cans, white spray paint, orange spray paint, black permanent marker, green and brown pipe cleaners. At first we started just painting the cans and bottles orange, that proved to be a mistake, so learn from us and start with a white layer or two.

We sprayed all the cans and bottles at once and let them sit out to dry. It took about 4 coats (2 white, 2 orange) to get the labels and such covered. Even then it wasn’t perfect, but that makes homemade decor more charming, in my opinion.

As we approached a magical photography hour of the sun about to go down it was time to add “vines and stems.” To the cans I decided to just add “vines” by wrapping a green pipe cleaner around the top rim once and then curling the rest like a freshly picked pumpkin. The bottles needed a stem to cover up the cap so we wrapped them with brown pipe cleaner and then added a curly vine onto them.

The day we did this it was very windy so we decided to hold off on drinking the Sparkling Ice so the bottles and cans would stand up for my pictures. This also meant my beautiful fall leaves would blow away with every gust, so it took some patience and perfect timing to get it all in the shot. When we were finished, since the cans are smooth, we were able to peel some of the top paint off and pour the Sparkling Ice into cups to share. We had a lot of fun doing a little taste test and voting on our favorite flavors. I got doubles of some flavors so we could leave a few pumpkin cans and bottles on the porch.

There is still plenty of time to enjoy fall weather and fall crafts. Pick up some delicious Sparkling Ice, join the rewards program for a chance to win some free Sparkling Ice, and get crafting! It’s easy and fun.

Cheers to a fun craft day!
