Decorating for Christmas

November 26, 2012 By Stefanie

We have started to decorate for Christmas at our house. We actually started before Thanksgiving but only did one thing here and one thing there. I am finally done with my fireplace mantle. We have a couple Christmas trees up, but no ornaments on them yet. Tonight my husband wants to put some lights outside in the bushes, and the columns on our front porch. I wanted to share an easy Christmas craft with you. First here is our mantle.

The craft I wanted to share with you in the “JOY” in the middle on my mantle. Here is an up close shot of it:

This is very easy to make. We used a scrap piece of wood on the bottom painted white to hold the letters. We found the letter “J” and “Y” at a craft store, along with some cute scrapbook paper. For the “O” we used a glittery Christmas ornament and attached some nice embellishments and a bow to jazz it up a little. This was super easy. It didn’t take to long to make, the longest part was waiting for the glue to dry. Stay tuned for more simple wintery crafts.

We celebrate Christmas at our house so those are the crafts that I will have to share with you. If you celebrate other holiday’s at this time of year I would LOVE to see the crafts you are making to decorate for them. Please leave a link to the picture in the comment section or share the photo on Making of a Mom’s facebook page.
