Creating Memories Between Mothers and Daughters

February 11, 2013 By Stefanie

There is an old saying that teaches that a mother’s precious treasure is the love that she has for her daughter along with the love that her daughter has for her in return.  It seems as if there is a natural bond that is formed between these two individuals from the very moment that the mother found out the gender of her inborn child that is cherished forever.  Since they want to create memorable moments during the times that they spend together, it is important that they take the time to do certain things that will allow them to do so.  What are some great ideas that can be used in order to accomplish this goal?

Have a Tea Party for Two

Even though it may seem like a waste of time to some people, a tea party that only has two people on the invitation list (mother and daughter) is a perfect opportunity to create a memorable moment that will be cherished for the rest of their lives.  When your daughter is young, she may still be drinking imaginary tea from her toy teapots and starting conversations with her imaginary friends that you can join in on if you are interested.  However, over time, the same dynamic will still be present as you both get older and start drinking actual tea with real-life friends at the table.

Create a Quilt Together

Quilts are great craft projects that are perfect for mothers and daughters to complete together.  A big quilt is going to take a lot of time to design, stitch and complete which means that mothers will be able to enjoy many days and even months spending quality time with their daughters.  They can learn a lot from each other based on the conversations that they have while working through each patch of fabric and can share those stories with future generations since those memorable moments will also seem to be intertwined within the stitching of the actual quilts themselves.

Invest in a Special Gift

There are quite a few gifts for girls that mothers can pursue if they want to buy something nice for their daughters.  However, if they truly want it to last and become the core element of a memorable moment that will be cherished for a lifetime, it is important that they make sure the chosen gift is special and filled with sentimental value.     One great idea that many women use is to purchase a valuable dress-up doll that is specifically designed to last for several decades.  Why is buying such a doll a great idea?  These dolls are more than just toys; they are valuable collectibles that can be passed down from generation to generation.  Therefore, this one valuable gift can become a family heirloom that is shared between the mothers and daughters of many generations to come in the future.

The Bottom Line

That is the main point about creating these memorable moments between mothers and daughters during the many years that they spend together.  It is imperative that these moments are done in a way that can be cherished not only for a few days or even a few years, but that can be reflected on and cherished for many decades to come.

Even though she enjoys writing for such popular niches as politics, current events and entertainment, she has a soft spot for any article that has to deal with gifts for girls. It allows her to take a brisk walk down Memory Lane of the glory days of her own childhood.
