Do you ever want to give your kids Christmas presents before Christmas Day? I sure do. So this year I did! Because of how affordable Walmart Family Mobile phones and plans are I decided to get my kids a phone to use for calling their Grandparents, texting with them and skyping them. My kids are way to young to have cell phones on a regular basis. This phone will stay at home, but when they want to call, text or Skype with family, they now have their own phone to use instead of mine! With Walmart Family Mobile my kids have the unlimited Talk, Text and Web for only $34.88 a month and it’s only $29.88 for a second line. Let the family togetherness (over the phone) begin.

After browsing the Walmart Family Mobile section (back by the electronics at my store) I saw that there were several great deals. Walmart has rolled back a lot of the phones, so there are amazing prices on cell phones to pair with the fantastic Family Mobile plans they offer. Check out these rollbacks:

  • Alcatel One Touch Evolve 2 – $49.88 (was $59.88)
  • ZTE ZMAX – $179.00 (was $199.88)
  • LG L90 – $119.00 (was $179.88) – I picked this one for my kids!
  • Nokia Lumia 635 – $99.88 (was $129.88)
  • Samsung Galaxy Exhibit – $79.88 (was $99.88)
  • Nokia Lumia 530 – $49.88 (was $69.88)

I went with the LG Optimus L90 because it has everything my kids need. The size is perfect with a nice large screen. They are already familiar with Android phones so they already know how to work it. I also purchased a starter kit because this was a new phone and new plan with Walmart Family Mobile.

In addition to the rollbacks, Walmart has another great deal. If you purchase a Samsung Galaxy Avant between 12/14 – 12/27 you will receive a $40 Walmart Gift Card FREE. That’s like Walmart paying for your first month of service.

Since I bought the phone, I made the first call to break it in. The phone is really nice, I like it and my kids love it! Since it’s better to be safe than sorry we had a practice session on Sunday. The kids sat by the Christmas tree pretending it was Christmas morning and they Skyped with Nana on their new phone. They were so excited to tell her all about their new phone. They loved being in control of the phone. I loved that they weren’t using my phone!

Even though they went with me to pick out the phone and set up the service, I told them it was an early Christmas present. Now on Christmas morning we will Skype with Nana and Papa when we open their gifts, we will Skype with Grandma and Grandpa when we open their gifts and we’ll try to Skype with some cousins too. This will be a fun way to have family time in our living room on Christmas morning even though we are separated by thousands of miles.

I love connecting with family during the holidays. It isn’t always possible to be near each other but with this amazing technology we can still enjoy each others company.

How are you connecting with family this Holiday season? Is Walmart Family Mobile on your Christmas list? What about one of the awesome phones on rollback?

My mom just switched to this plan. She didn’t think she could afford a plan with web but I am so glad she did. Now we can stay connected better.

This is a great plan and your kids will love having a phone they can call their “own”.
