Choosing a Prom Dress

Prom season is nearing and if you have a teenager in the house, you may already be hearing talk of it. If you have a teenage son perhaps him and his friends are discussing who to ask or how to ask. If you have a teenage girl, I’m sure her and her friends are looking for that perfect dress.

Have you considered shopping online? JenJenHouse is an online boutique filled with beautiful dresses. While browsing their prom dresses I found several that I thought were lovely with a price tag that wasn’t too bad. They are having a sale, so you get a deal right now.

Let me tell you the story of shopping for a dress my senior year of high school. We lived in Los Angeles County, about an hour from LA. We decided to go down to a big mall to look around. In my home we have dress standards so I needed a dress with sleeves, past my knee and not low cut. Finding those things in the year 2000 was hard to do – I imagine now it is nearly impossible. Since I had those dress requirements it looked as though I would be buying a dress with a separate sweater to go over it, until I found one dress that came with a matching jacket. The dress was beautiful and I felt like Cinderella in it. It was a beautiful light blue silky dress. I tried it on and fell in love until we saw the price tag. The dress cost about $280. EEEKKK! We were not wealthy by any means, but because of our dress standards my Mom decided to show me that day that she would sacrifice for me to have a modest dress regardless of the crazy price. I appreciate her for it. I loved the dress and was even able to wear it a few times in college as well.

The moral of that story for this occasion is that the JenJenHouse has great prices, so you won’t be spending that much money on a prom dress! 🙂

When you shop on JenJenHouse you will be able to easily find what you need because the navigation is so organized and efficient. Just like I have certain dress requirements that make shopping hard, on the JenJenHouse site it is easy. I can put in that I want a dress with sleeves and how long I want it to go. I LOVE those features! Take a look around and see if they have the perfect dress for prom this year!

What color prom dress does your daughter want? Do you have any dress standards she have to follow?
