The BFG Red Carpet Premiere

June 24, 2016 By Stefanie

Disney provided an all expense trip to attend The BFG red carpet premiere. All opinions are my own.

I LOVE going to red carpet events. It’s so exciting going to a place where you don’t feel like you should be. The streets are lined with people hoping to catch a glimpse of a Hollywood star, and there I am walking down the red carpet with a group of bloggers thinking “I should be on the other side of that barrier with all those people.” It’s surreal, seriously. But here are some fun pictures of The BFG Red Carpet Premiere.

I’m blessed that one of the “perks” that I work hard to obtain is to attend a red carpet premiere of a Disney movie every once in a while. This one was unique and incredible. Once we got our credentials we headed down that carpet. This red carpet experience was different than any other because there wasn’t any pressure to hurry up and get down to the theater. Since there were so many posters of The BFG movie there was plenty of space to take photos, fun props at the end of the red carpet and some interactive photos as well.

After we took all the red carpet photos we wanted we headed across the street to the Hard Rock cafe for the pre-premiere party. In the Hard Rock Cafe was yummy dinner and dessert but very little seating. We filled our plates and stood around chatting and observing. Lots of people come to the premiere parties: the people who created the movie and their families, the stars of the film and their families, other disney channel stars, etc. I’m not very good at playing “name that celebrity” so I only saw a couple people I recognized, but didn’t have the opportunity (read GUTS) to ask for a picture.

After yummy food and socializing it was time to head back onto the red carpet to go into the El Capitan Theater for the premiere.  The moment when you are sitting in a movie theater with all the people that created it, advertised for it, promoted it and had some little part in the process is incredible. There is cheering and clapping for companies and people. Everyone is so excited to see their hard work on the big screen. When it’s over there is more clapping and cheering for loved ones, co-workers, companies and success. It’s a beautiful thing to witness the love and happiness associated with a job well done and a finished product.

It makes my heart so happy for all those involved that are so happy with the completion of the film. Stay tuned for my The BFG movie review coming next week!
